Verfahren zum Biegsammachen von Holz Das Verfahren zum Dauerndbiegsammachen von Holz nach dem Patent 318 197 K1. 38/t durch Kochen oder Dämpfen des Holzes und Stauchen des derart erweichten Holzes in oder im wesentlichen in Faserrichtung läßt sich, wie sich ergeben hat, dadurch wesentlich beschleunigen und das Holz in eine für das Stauchverfahren auch noch günstigere Beschaffenheit bringen, daß das Holz in an sich bekannter Weise unter vermindertem Luftdruck oder nachdem es einem verminderten Luftdruck ausgesetzt worden ist, gekocht oder gedämpft wird; hierdurch verkürzt sich die bisher für das Stauchfähigmachen erforderliche Zeit um etwa ein Drittel. Eine noch schnellere und noch gründlichere Erweichung des Holzes läßt sich auf diesem Wege nun noch dadurch erzielen, daß dem unter verminderten Luftdruck gesetzten Holz Dampf oder besser noch Dampf in Gegenwart von etwas Wasser nur für eine kurze Zeitspanne zugesetzt wird, etwa -,vährend 1/,; bis 1/s der insgesamt für das Erweichen erforderlichen Zeit, oder indem stattdessen in den das Holz enthaltenden luftverdünnten Raum lediglich eine geringe Menge heißes Wasser eingebracht wird und das Holz alsdann der Einwirkung jener Mittel :ohne weitere äußere Einwirkungen bis zur genügenden Erweichung überlassen wird; in diesem Fall beträgt die zur Erweichung des Holzes erforderliche Zeit etwa nur 1/3 bis 1/4 der bisher hierzu benötigten Zeit, und das Holz wird außerdem noch stärker und gleichmäßiger erweicht. Eine größere und gleichrnäßigere Erweichung des Holzes begünstigt nun seinerseits den Stauchprozeß und die hierdurch zu erzielende Biegefähigkeit des Holzes wesentlich. Die Struktur des Holzes ist nicht gleichmäßig, die mehr zur Rinde liegenden Teile sind durchlässiger als die mehr zum Kern des Stammes liegenden Teile, und es ist ferner auch die Struktur des Holzes in Faserrichtung und quer zur Faserrichtung verschieden. Durch eine Luftverdünnung vor dem Kochen oder Dämpfen oder besser noch während des Kochens oder Dämpfens werden nun die aus der verschiedenen Struktur des Holzes herrührenden Ungleichmäßigkeiten der Erweichung, wie sich ergeben hat, wesentlich vermindert, und infolgedessen wird auch das gestauchte Holz gleichmäßiger und in einem erhöhten Maße biegsamer als .bei dem bisher üblichen Verfahren.Method for bending wood.
