Description

Schaft für Wurf-Speere. Es sind Wurf-Speere bekannt, deren Schaft teils aus einem Stück Holz, teils verleimt und innen hohl, oder mit einem sogenannten Kern aus Rohroder mit sonstigem Material durchzogen sind.Shaft for throwing spears. Durch diese sinngemäße Anordnung ist dem Schaft eine erhöhte Stabilität gegeben, d. h. ein Splittern des Schaftes in sich selbst ist dadurch ausgeschlossen. Dem Abbrechen der Spitze oder Ende des Schaftes ist dadurch vorgebeugt, da.ß die Spitze o des Schaftes e quadratisch (Abb. 5, Schnitt G-H) zugespitzt und Rohrholz b oder sonst besonders widerstandsfähiges Holz aufgeleimt ist. Das Ende des Schaftes ist von der Stirnseite (Abb. 3, Schnitt C-D-) in der Mitte im rechten Winkel zueinander versetzt keilförmig eingesägt (s.
