Automatic lowering device for the rotating table top on the work table
Of Leather Belt Sharpening Machines The present invention relates to an automatic lowering device
for the rotating table top on the work table of leather strapping machines with
variable skiving length. With almost all known drive belt sharpening machines
becomes the moving table top of the worktable that the worker uses at the beginning
before sharpening in order to press the leather against the knife edge,
after completion of the sharpening by the worker lowered again so that the
next belt track to be sharpened can be inserted. They are probably devices
known, in which an automatic lowering of the work table after completion
Sharpening takes place, but only for an always the same length of beveling.
The invention is a device that the movable
-Tabletop of the workbench automatically lowers after sharpening is complete,
whereby the sharpening can be set to any length. This will
a considerable relief of the worker and an acceleration of the sharpening process
brought about. The lowering device is used both for - sharpening machines, which are by hand,
as well as those that are mechanically driven.
In the drawing is an embodiment of the lowering device according to
the invention shown, namely Fig. T and Ta show a longitudinal section

a angepreßt.
The setup of the machine itself is known per se. The skiving table g is displaceable in two horizontal grooves it, n of the two side frames m, nt and carries a rack i, i on both sides, while a shaft in the machine frame. o at h ', h " is rotatably supported by a large handwheel s or a belt pulley, with which two gearwheels h, lt are firmly connected, which mesh with the racks i, i When the shaft o rotates in one sense or the other, the skiving table moves forwards or backwards. On the skiving table, the rotatable table top a is attached by means of two pivot pins c, the front end of which rests on an eccentric b , the shaft k of which is in two at Bearings k ', k "cast on the sharpening table and which can be rotated by means of a handwheel l seated on the eccentric shaft k. As a result, the table top a is lifted and the two support rollers e, d for the belt end resting on it and rotatable in sliding bearings e ', e " and d', d" leaning on and rolling on her, employed at the sharpening knife f. The sharpening of the belt ends takes place in such a way that the end of the web is applied against a stop q which has previously been set to the required skiving length. The stop q, which is arranged horizontally displaceably on a slide r, is connected to the rotatable table top a of the skiving table g. The skiving table is set to the respective skiving length by the handwheel using a scale attached to the skiving table. B. 2o cm, set. Turning the handwheel s causes the gearwheels 1z, h to engage in the racks i, i, causing the skiving table g to move horizontally and thus also the stop q. The distance between the stop q and the cutting edge of the fixed knife f is the respective length of the beveling. The end of the belt to be sharpened, the front edge of which rests against the stop q, is pressed against the table top a at the front by a pressing device. Above the cutting edge of the knife f there is a steel feed roller p which is inevitably driven by the shaft of the gears dz and which is either corrugated or covered with rubber and has the purpose of feeding the leather to the knife edge. As soon as the end of the belt is pressed sufficiently against the knife by means of the handwheel 1 and the eccentric b, sharpening can begin. It is done by turning the large handwheel s in the direction of the arrow, whereby the skiving table g with the table top a and the clamped belt end moves in the direction of the arrow indicated below the rack, at the same time the feed roller p is set in rotation and the leather of the Knife edge feeds. When the table top a is moved in the direction of the arrow, the rollers rd, e rise in the vertical direction, while at the same time the belt end to be sharpened moves horizontally, so that a wedge-shaped sharpening of the belt end takes place.
vorderen Ende verzahnte Stange :2 in zwei rechteckigen Führungen 1, l' verschiebbar
After the sharpening has taken place, the table top a must be lowered again so that a gap is created between the upper support roller e and the cutting edge of the knife f, which is sufficient to push the leather through it. The automatic lowering device which is used for this purpose and which forms the subject of the invention is attached to the sharpening table g. On the sharpening table g is a rod that is only toothed at its front end: 2 mounted displaceably in two rectangular guides 1, l ' , which by means of a bolt q. carries a double angle lever, the vertical forked leg 5 of which can swing around the bolt 4, while the horizontal leg 6 carries a bolt 8 at its end, which slides from right to left over a wedge surface 9 firmly attached to the machine frame and when leaving the wedge surface by one bent against the other leg? of the angle lever acting leaf spring ro is pressed down. During the return movement of the work table, the bolt 8 of the angle lever abuts against a nose of the wedge surface 9, whereby the angle lever and the rack 2 are prevented from moving further. As a result, the gear 3 mounted on the eccentric shaft k of the work table, which is in engagement with the toothing of the rack 2, and thus also the eccentric shaft k and the eccentric b are set in rotation, so that the rotatable table top a of the work table g, the rests with its end on the eccentric b, lowers. During this lowering, the table top a hits the curved arm 7 of the angle lever, pushes it down, the lever arm 6 with the bolt 8 lifting at the same time, so that the lower surface of the bolt 8 slides over the wedge surface 9 when the table moves further back will.
