geringem Umfange eintritt. Als solche Bedingungen kommen insbesondere niedrigere
Temperaturen, kürzere Behandlungsdauer, geringere Konzentrationen in Betracht, jedoch
A process for the preparation of 2-Bzl'-Dibenzanthronyl and its derivatives The Bzi-Bzi-Dibenzanthronyl is through the Patentschrift2i5 OO6, 2 - known 2'-Dibenzanthronyl by Letters Patent 407,838. It has now been shown, surprisingly, that 2-Bzi'-dibenzanthronyl, the constitution: and its derivatives can be obtained by treating Bzi-halobenzanthrones together with benzantbrone or its derivatives not substituted in the 2-position with alkaline condensing agents under moderate conditions, so that a further linkage to dyes, e.g. B. Isodibenzanthronen, does not occur at all or only to a small extent. Particularly suitable such conditions are lower temperatures, shorter treatment times, lower concentrations, but the nature of these conditions depends on the prevailing conditions, the diluent and condensation agent used, etc. It is easy to determine from case to case. Various types of alkaline condensing agents can be used here. It is advisable to use the two components in approximately molecular amounts, but the process is not restricted to a specific mixing ratio. Any dyes formed can be separated from the 2-Bzi'-dibenzanthronyls in the usual way.
Derivaten durch Einwirkung alkalischer Kondensationsmittel Isodibenzanthrone, also
Küpenfarbstoffe. Die Bildung der bisher unbekannten 2 - Bz i'-Dibenzanthronyle
durch Einwirkung alkalischer Kondensationsmittel auf derartigge
Gemische
According to patent 436 888 of class 22b, isodibenzanthrones, ie vat dyes, are obtained from mixtures of Bzi-halobenzanthrones with benzanthrone or its derivatives not substituted in: 2-position by the action of alkaline condensing agents. The formation of the previously unknown 2 - Bz i'-dibenzanthronyls by the action of alkaline condensing agents on such mixtures under the milder conditions described was theoretically possible, but by no means obvious. It was rather to be expected that in a 2 407 838 under these conditions, the benzanthrone contained in the mixtures or its derivatives with free 2-positions according to the #Patentschrift - would be transferred to 2-Dibenzanthronyl. From the other component of the mixture, the Bzi-Halogenbenzanthron, the patent specification 194 252, and Patent 43 775. Surprisingly 1 had to, if üherhaupt occurred in the reaction, after which Klasse.22 "b isodibenzanthrone a form. However, it is possible to push back these expected linkages almost completely in favor of the formation of Bzi'-dibenzanthronyls.
Man rührt einige.
326'. Der Mischschmelzpunkt mit dem isomeren,:2 -:2'#Dibenzanthronyl vom
Schmelzpunkt 325' liegt wesentlich tiefer.
an.The 2 - Bz i'-dibenzanthronyls are very reactive substances and can be converted into valuable dyes in various ways. Example i A mixture of 2-o parts of pure benzanthrone and 2.3 parts of pure Bzi-chlorobenzanthrone is introduced into a solution or suspension of 30 parts of sodium anilide (made up of 6 parts of sodium) in 400 parts of anhydrous aniline in a nitrogen flow at 5 " The temperature rises to about 12 ° during the introduction. The mixture is stirred for a few hours at this temperature, the reaction mixture is taken up with excess dilute hydrochloric acid, the precipitate is filtered off and it is extracted with hot acetone until practically nothing is in solution The crude 2-Bzi-dibanzanthronyl obtained as residue in good yield is a greenish-yellow powder after drying. It contains no detectable amounts of isomeric dibenzanthronyls and only a little isodibenzanthrone. It is obtained completely free of dye when the condensation is carried out at an even lower temperature than indicated above, for example at o ', after two repeated dissolving from boiling xyl The substance that crystallizes in yellow needles melts at around 326 '. The mixed melting point with the isomeric ': 2 -: 2'# dibenzanthronyl with a melting point of 325 ' is much lower. The new substance dissolves in cold concentrated sulfuric acid and in: 23 percent oleum with a bright carmine red color. The solution in gleum takes on an intense brick-red fluorescence after standing for a short time.
Monomethylanilins, gelöst in Monomethylanilin, verwenden.
Beispiel 3
2-Bzi'-Dibeii7anthronyl.Instead of sodium anilide, the sodium compound of monomethylaniline, dissolved in monomethylaniline, can also be used.
Example 3 The use of 6-methylbenzanthrone (patent specification -39761 of class i2o, example g) instead of benzanthrone in the procedure of example i leads to 6-methyl-: 2-Bzi'-dibenzanthronyl, which from boiling trichlorobenzene as a yellow-green crystalline Powder can be obtained. It melts over 36o 'and dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid or oleum of 23 percent with a carmine color without fluorescence. Example 4 In a solution or suspension of io parts of pure benzanthrone, ii, 5 parts pure Bzi-Chlorbenzanthron and 6o parts of finely powdered potassium hydroxide in: 24oTeilen toluene is allowed in a nitrogen atmosphere at io to 1 5 ': 24 parts of ethyl alcohol shrinks and stirred at this Temperature until the end of the reaction. The reaction mixture is treated with steam to remove the toluene, the residue. is filtered off, freed from easily soluble by-products by washing with alcohol or acetone and finally recrystallized from benzene or xylene. #NIan thus receives the 2-Bzi'-Dibeii7anthronyl described in Example i.
