Hält man in diesem Zustande,
:Maschine, also einen Betriebsausfall bedin-
gen.
ben aus dein ZSlinder herauszunehmen, was
wiederum ein längeres Stillsetzen der Ma-
schine und des davon abhängigen Betriebes
bedingt, da normale Betriebspausen hierfür
in den wenigsten Fällen ausreichen. Es ist
deshalb heute allgemein üblich, das Undicht-
werden der Kolbenringe mittelbar aus der
feststellbaren Leistungsabnahme der Ma-
schine zu folgern. Ein derartiges Vorgehen
ist indessen nicht einwandfrei und auch sehr
unsicher, da die Leistungsabnahme der Ma-
schine auch auf andere Ursachen, z. B. Ver-
schlechterung der in den Zylinder eingeführ-
ten Triebstoffe, zurückgeführt werden kann.
Gemäß der Erfindung soll nun dem oben
geschilderten Übelstande dadurch abgeholfen
werden, daß mit Hilfe eines oder mehrerer
zu diesem Zweck in die Zviinderwandlauf-
fläche eingesetzter 1Teßvorrichtungen eine
planmäßige ständige Beobachtung der Tem-
peratur dieser Lauffläche einsetzt, wobei man
aus dein Anzeigen der Meßvorrichtung einen
sicheren Rückschluß auf die Beschaffenheit
der Kolbenringe ziehen kann. Als Meßv or-
In beiden Fällen
ist aber der ausgesprochene Zweck der be-
nutzten Vorrichtung die Ausübung einer
Kontrolle über den im Zylinder vor sich
gehenden Verbrennungsvorgang. Derartige
Messungen der Temperaturen im Verbren-
nungsraum sind aber ungeeignet für einen
Rückschluß auf die Beschaffenheit der Kol-
benringe; auch Messungen der Kühlmittel-
wärme sind zur Ermöglichung eines solchen
Rückschlusses nicht geeignet, da sie durch
fremde Fehlerquellen beeinflußt werden kön-
nen.
bzw. mehrere solcher Geräte unmittelbar in
Kolbenringe. Werden diese jedoch durch
Bruch, Fressen wegen mangelnder Schmie-
rung oder Nachlassen ihrer Federung be-
schädigt und infolgedessen undicht, so be-
Wandungstemperatur. Durch die laufende
Beobachtung der letzteren ist dem Maschi-
nenpersonal eine rechtzeitige Abstellung auf-
tretender Schäden möglich gemacht.

that is why it is common practice today to

is, however, not perfect and also very
uncertain, since the decrease in performance of the

According to the invention, that is what is sought
