Process for the regeneration of old rubber. The consumption of rubber products
of all kinds has lately grown so rapidly that the generation of debts has increased
for manufacturing -not enough and the rubber industry is forced to do more
and more on old rubber made suitable for use again, so-called regenerated material,
to fall back on. There under your old rubber with tissues coming to the Atifarbeitting
interspersed objects (tire covers, hoses, etc.) predominate, contains the
Regeneration of old rubber two ups and downs. on the one hand, the loosening of the vulcanization
added sulfur, on the other hand, the destruction and elimination of the in the rubber
inserted pieces of tissue. Both of these goals will, to some extent, be achieved with that
now the most common method, the treatment of the finely chopped scrap rubber
with caustic soda under pressure. But the process takes a relatively long time
and the product can be used, especially for more demanding purposes such as the manufacture of car tires,
much to be desired in goodness.
The present invention is based on the surprising observation that
that -sodium hydroxide solution, which is mixed with cellulose, wood, wood pulp, wood pulp, cotton,
Batimwoll cell tilose and other types of cell silos for some time in touching "-ar,
brings about a substantial acceleration of the regeneration process and before alone
can also achieve a regenerated material, <read your raw rubber in its properties
is much closer than a regenerate made with technically pure, untreated caustic soda
is made. Which of the substances that come into contact with types of pulp
are absorbed by the caustic soda, produce this strange effect,
could not yet be cleared up. But it is noteworthy that the effect
persists. Is such caustic soda that has come into contact with cellulose after its use
drained in the regeneration boiler, so it can be replenished with fresh, untreated
Caustic soda can be used again several times and still shows the acceleration
the regeneration process and the improvement of the product until the increasing
Dilution cancels this effect.

zeigen. The procedure is now as follows: wood chips, cotton cellulose,
Wood cellulose or other easily accessible types of cellulose are treated with sodium hydroxide
doused and worked through until complete wetting has occurred.
The mixture is then left to itself for some time that the sodium hydroxide solution to

is removed from your pulp. The sodium hydroxide solution obtained in this way is then used in the usual way

untreated N atronlatige can be stretched.

The differences become particularly pronounced when one is exposed to high pressure
