In Fig. ι der beiliegenden Zeichnung ist eine Kraftmaschine dargestellt, bestehend aus der mit Zahnrad α versehenen Triebwelle A A, Fig. ι und 5, und dem Gehäuse BB, Fig. 1, welches für den Zuflufs der motorischen Substanz das Einströmungsrohr b und für den Austritt die beiden Ausströmungsrohre c c besitzt. Die Welle AA, Fig. 5, wird beim Durchströmen der Substanz vermittelst der rechts und links gewundenen Gewinde umgetrieben, wobei die Wirkung der Schraubengänge durch ein entgegengesetztes Muttergewinde im Gehäuse unterstützt wird. Ist die motorische Substanz Gas oder Dampf, so kommt ihre Expansionskraft in einer solchen Kraftmaschine gar nicht zur Geltung, wenn nicht die Schraubengänge an der Triebwelle und im Gehäuse durch Scheidewände d d, Fig. 1 und 5, streckenweise unterbrochen, auf solche Weise der Raum zwischen dem Schraubenkern der Triebwelle und der Gehäusewandung in Expansionskammern getheilt wird, aus welchen der Dampf oder das Gas strömen, beim Uebertritt aus einer Kammer in die andere gegen die windschiefen Flächen (s.
