Wassergaserzeuger.
in Verbindung
steht.
bezeichnen ce2, b2, c2, d2, e2 entsprechende Teile wie in Abb. i.
Water gas generator. The well-known arrangement of a steam boiler and one
The degassing retort for a mixed gas generator is shown in Fig. I. In this
Figure is a1 the generator shaft, bi the smoldering retort and cl the steam boiler.
- The retort is at the top with a filler cap and a discharge pipe dl for the smoldering
and water gas gases, while the space above the boiler with the exhaust pipes,
in connection
stands. The operation of such a generator corresponds
that of a water gas system. The glowing coke contained in the generator is through
The air blown under the grate is incandescent, then the air is turned off and
After changing the valves at ei and di, steam was blown under the grate, which
Steam generated with the glowing coke water gas. This water gas goes through the
Retort for water and carbonization gas exhaust dl. Those generated during the hot blowing period
Some gases go along the retort, heating it, but the greater part
through the boiler pipes to the extractor e. So not all exhaust gases are forced
to heat the retort, d. H. the heat contained in them is not there
exploited where it is most needed. The new invention, shown in Figure 2,
avoids this mistake by forcing all exhaust gases into the annulus
to cross between the boiler and the retort and then from above into the boiler pipes
enter in order to step outside through the exhaust valve at e2. Also in this picture
ce2, b2, c2, d2, e2 denote corresponding parts as in Fig. i. Through this
A better heating of the retort can either increase the throughput
or the retort can be shortened accordingly, provided that the same amount of heat
through the retort wall of the coal to be burned off in the retort
supplied «- earth.
In order to protect the boiler and to better supply the heat to the retort,
practically the side of the kettle facing the retort is covered with a thin one
Protect fireclay layer f. This lining can then be used during the gas period,
during which no hot gases pass through the annulus, those contained in it
Apply heat to the retort or boiler by radiation.
Retorte etwa in halber Retortenhöhe zeigt Abb. 4.
Abb. i und z.
Another improvement is shown in Fig. 3, namely a den
Retort even better adapted to the requirements of the gerrerator operation. While namely
In Fig. 2, the retort is assumed to be made of cast iron, it is after
Fig. 3 made of round or oval chamotte rings, as they are in the vertical retorts of the
newer gas works are used. The cross section of a generator with a round
Fig. 4 shows the retort at about half the height of the retort. As can be seen from the figures
the fireclay cake has channels g through which the hot bubble gases are drawn off
and heat the retort to the top through slots in the space above the boiler
to step out, to cross out the boiling pipes and to go outside at it. These
The arrangement has a particular advantage over the penitentiary retort
Fig. I and z. When the generator contents are hot-blown, CO is mainly generated.
If you now lead the generator sufficiently during the hot blowing at hi or h2 or h3
Fresh air too, so the CO burns to C02, and it can at the high temperature
the pen-iron retort may be brought up to the melting temperature, at least
but it will quickly scale off. Of course, this is not the case with the Schamotteretorte
to be feared, but here so much fresh air can be supplied that the carbon oxide gases
burn completely to CO2.
bestehen.Of course, the retort according to Fig. 2 can also be made of chamotte
exist.
