J. A. G. MÜLLER in LOHNE (Oldenburg). FlaschenverschluTs mit Luftdruck-Apparat. JAG MÜLLER in LOHNE (Oldenburg). Bottle closures with air pressure apparatus.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 29. Juli 1877 ab.Patented in the German Empire on July 29, 1877.
The present stopper is used to close the bottles and other vessels from which
one often has to take smaller quantities of the content, and should make the latter possible,
without having to remove the stopper and tip over the bottle etc.
Man
It is shown in various designs on the accompanying drawing. In the simplest arrangement, FIG. 1 shows a longitudinal section, FIG. 2 shows a section AB of the plug with an air pressure apparatus. The stopper α made of cork wood, glass or vulcanized rubber is provided at its end protruding from the bottle neck with a balloon b made of rubber or some other elastic material. A tube c extends through the balloon and the stopper almost to the bottom of the bottle and is airtightly connected to the upper wall of the balloon. The balloon also communicates with the interior of the bottle through a fine channel e. If one now presses on the balloon, the air in this and the bottle is compressed and the liquid contained in the latter is thereby driven up into the tube c , where it then collects in the funnel-shaped enlargement / and can be removed therefrom for use. If the pressure is released, the balloon will again assume its original shape and as much air will flow into the bottle d through the tube c as the liquid was drained off. If the liquid is to be allowed to flow out directly, an outlet pipe g can be connected to the ascending pipe c . This embodiment is shown in FIGS. 3 to 7, namely, FIG. 3 is an outer view, FIG. 4 is an upper view, FIG. 5 is a longitudinal section, FIG. 6 is a section along CD, while FIG. 9 shows the plug itself is. The same is drilled through laterally, as can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 9, in which through-hole the outlet pipe g is seated. Furthermore, at the level of the balloon, a valve h for air inlet is attached, which is produced by a small elastic tube, one wall of which is connected to the interior of the balloon, fastened across the balloon and provided with a button k If the button k is pressed, the aforementioned opening is first closed, and then the air from the balloon is expelled into the vessel and the liquid is thereby expelled from it need not, as in the first arrangement, make its way through the riser tube into the liquid. The balloon has to be made large enough to allow sufficient compression of the air, and it is expedient to use short-necked and bulbous vessels, as shown in Fig. 5 and 7. In order to prevent the liquid from falling back when the pressure on the balloon is released, it may be advantageous under certain circumstances to use the to provide the lower opening of the air duct e- with a valve made of membrane. In the case of liquids that are exposed to drying out (ink), the pipe must be wide enough to prevent it from clogging. The air channel e should be so narrow that it allows the passage of air, but not of liquid, so that if the vessel overturns, the balloon will not be contaminated by the liquid contained in the vessel.
These plugs, provided with air pressure apparatus, are larger for certain purposes
of practical importance, especially when it comes to certain small quantities
to be taken from a vessel. So for the drug bottles of the pharmacists, with jars
for table oil and vinegar, for travel bottles and canteens, ink kegs, for brandy and
Liqueur bottles and so on, which cannot be further elaborated here.
