Verfahren zur Herstellung von Küpenfarbstoffen. Die Herstellung von
Farbstoffen durch Kondensation von ß-Naphthindoxyl mit Isatin ist in der Patentschrift
io8128 der Klasse 22e beschrieben worden. Diese Farbstoffe sind infolge ihres mangelnden
Ziehvermögens für die Baumwollfärberei unbrauchbar. In der Patentschrift
2,03 437 der Klasse 22e ist ferner angegeben, daß durch Kondensation von
Dihalogenderivaten des Isatins, wie z. B. Dibromisatin mit Indoxyl, echte violette
Farbstoffe entstehen. Es ist zugleich in dieser Patentschrift ausdrücklich darauf
hingewiesen worden, daß zur Erlangung brauchbarer Farbstoffe die Verwendung von
Dihalogenisatinen unerläßlich sei.Process for the production of vat dyes. Es wurde nun gefunden, daß man wertolle Küpenfarbstoffe, die vollständig
verschieden sind von den violetten Farbstoffen der Patentschrift 2o3 437, erhält,
wenn man die Halogensubstitutionsprodukte des Isatins mit dem 2, i-Naphthindoxyl
kondensiert. Die Farbstoffe stellen braune Pulver dar, lösen sich in konzentrierter
Schwefelsäure mit blauer Farbe und bilden mit Hydrosulfit und Natronlauge grüngelbe
bis gelbbraune Küpen, aus welchen Baumwolle echt braun bis olive gefärbt wird. Beispiel

Der in guter Ausbeute abgeschiedene Farbstoff wird filtriert, gewaschen und getrocknet.
