Round block press for blocks made of celluloid or similar plastics.
The invention relates to a round block press for blocks made of celluloid or the like
Plastics and consists in that the upper crosshead of the press is vertical
running slot for receiving a pull-out rod coupled to the block core
has, the head of which, after pressing, when the die goes down on the
Crosshead hangs up, so that the block in the further downward movement of the mold from
this is pulled out. This makes it easier to insert the core and
Pulling out as well as removal of the finished celluloid block achieved than with known
Pressing with a built-in lifting device is the case.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown,
namely Fig. i shows the closed press, partly in section, and Fig. 2
the open press with the block pulled out.
Blockform g.
The press has an underlying press cylinder a, which is fastened in a foot piece b. The latter is connected to the crosshead d by pillars c. The plunger e carries the table f with the double-walled block shape g. Sitting on the side of the block form g - two retraction cylinders h, the pistons i of which are supported against the upper crosshead d . The upper crosshead d has a slot under which the pressure ring k, which is also slotted but can be closed by a flap or a closure piece, is attached. Before the start of pressing, a core 1, which is to serve to subsequently receive the round block, is coupled to a rod m, grasped by a crane and inserted into the press from the side through the slotted head piece. The mold is then raised so far that the core L is inserted into the centering of the table f. The annular space between the mold and the core is then filled with the mass to be pressed. Now the mold is lifted even further by the plunger e, so that the locking ring k enters the mold and exerts pressure on the mass. At the same time, the block form g, which is double-walled, is heated by steam or hot water. The mass is boiled under pressure and heat and then cooled with cold water. After the block is completed in this way, the block shape g descends under the action of the two retraction cylinders h. The upper collar of the rod m is limited at the upper crosshead d , and the core Z with the mass block pressed around it pulls out of the mold (Fig. Z). After the gap in the pressure ring k, which was closed by a flap or a tail piece during the pressing, is opened, the rod m can be grasped by a crane and extended to the side along with the core and block.
