Wird die Feder jedoch so weit belastet, daß die Streifen aufeinandergleiten, so tritt in bekannter Weise eine Keilwirkung zwischen der. äußeren und der inneren Windung ein. Der äußere Streifen B ist daher bestrebt, seinen Durchmesser zu vergrößern, während der innere Streifen A seinen Durchmesser zu verringern sucht.
