Description
From mutually independent parts that come into contact with wedge surfaces existing spring. The invention relates to and consists of springs according to patent 44174I in that the strips consisting of curved cross-section and screwed into one another = The spring is assembled in such a way that the spring strips are in the unloaded state have play against each other in the axial direction.
In the drawing is an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention shown in axial section.
The spring consists of two strips A and B, curved in cross-section, screwed into one another, with their convex sides facing each other. The two strips are at their ends, e.g. B. on the one hand on a buffer sleeve and on the other hand on the buffer plunger, set and of such mutual dimensions that they interlock in the unloaded state with play. When the spring is compressed, the two strips A and B act, as long as they have play against one another, like normal helical springs subject to torsion; the spring force of the spring is relatively low here. However, if the spring is loaded so much that the strips slide on each other, a wedge effect occurs in a known manner between the. outer and inner turn. The outer strip B therefore tries to increase its diameter, while the inner strip A tries to reduce its diameter. The strips A and B are therefore now essentially only subjected to tension or compression and are therefore able to absorb a relatively large force.
The device described enables springs in a simple manner to manufacture according to the main patent, which at the beginning of the load a low, then but have a rapidly growing spring force.
