Cooling apparatus It is known to achieve a cooling effect in such a way that
that one evaporates liquid ammonia in a vessel and the steam with water
can be absorbed in a second vessel. Once the entire ammonia supply has evaporated,
the aqueous ammonia solution is heated in the second vessel, while the first
Vessel is cooled. The expelled ammonia vapor condenses in the cooled one
Vessel again to be evaporated again for the purpose of cooling.
The object of the invention is to provide such an apparatus

and the like. Makes usable with the simplest handling. According to the invention that will

In Abb. i ist ein Ausführungsbeispiel dargestellt. Ein kurzes zylindrisches
Gefäß i enthält wäßrige Ammoniaklösung oder irgendein anderes geeignetes binäres
Gemisch.
dann wieder in der Rohrschlange ¢.In Fig. I an embodiment is shown. A short cylindrical one
Vessel i contains aqueous ammonia solution or any other suitable binary solution
Mixture. It carries a container, the double sheet metal walls 2 with heat-insulating
Material 3 are filled out. The pipe coil is located in the free interior of the container
4. Its upper end opens into a pot 5; its lower end leads over a riser pipe
6 into the vessel i; it is also connected to the lowest point of the pot 5.
From this another pipe 9 leads almost to the bottom of the vessel i. If
If there is ¢ liquid ammonia in the pipe coil, then the apparatus is for cooling capacity
ready. For this purpose, it is placed in a bowl 7 with cold water, which is shown in Fig. I
is indicated by dashed lines. The solution in vessel i then absorbs the gaseous
Ammonia that develops in the coil 4. Liquid particles that contain the
in .this pipe coil, which entrains rising gas, get into the pot 5 and
flow through the line S back into the spiral, while the steam through
the tube 9 is pressed into the absorption liquid. The more often that in the bowl
7 heated water is replaced by fresh cold water, the more violent it is
the cooling capacity. But you can also easily make the water content of the bowl 7 so large
dimensioned so that a single filling is sufficient to absorb all of the ammonia
permit.
As soon as the ammonia supply in the coil 4 is exhausted and the apparatus closes
If a new cooling capacity is to be prepared, it is removed from the shell 7
and placed on a gas flame or some other heating device. The inner
the container 2 is filled with cooling water, which is renewed several times if necessary
will. The ammonia gas expelled from the liquid in vessel i condenses
then again in the pipe coil ¢.
Another exemplary embodiment is shown in Figure 2. It makes a difference
from the according to A.bb. i in that to take up the liquid ammonia in place
a tube loop, a hollow cylindrical vessel 14 is used, which through the tubes 16
and i9 is connected to the vessel i. This can, as the illustration shows, after
be extended above so that it is the whole apparatus with its hollow cylindrical
Part 2o surrounds. This design creates larger vapor spaces in both vessels
above the liquid level, which guarantees that there are no large quantities
be entrained by liquid from the overflowing vapors.
Another embodiment is shown in Fig. 3 in side view, in Fig.
4 shown in view from above. In this embodiment, the absorption solution
not cooled by water but by air. The container z is here of one
Sheet metal jacket 21 surrounded. Radial ribs 22 run between the two, which have a sufficient
Form cooling surface. The lower wide edge of the sheet metal jacket 2.1 is cut out,
so that individual feet 23 arise between which the cooling lift can occur. Of the
annular cavity between the sheet metal jacket 21 and the container 2 has a chimney-like effect
the buoyancy of the cooling air. Should the gaseous ammonia from the absorption solution
are driven out again, the apparatus is, for example, via a gas burner
posed. The ribs 22 then serve to absorb the heat and the combustion gases
can flow upwards through the cylindrical cavity.
