Querträger 5 und Abdeckung 6 sind derart miteinan­ der verbunden, daß sie quasi eine Baueinheit bilden. Diese Bau­ einheit 5, 6 ist um eine Achse 9 schwenkbar an einem Grundkörper, im Ausführungsbeispiel an den Enden der Längsträger 4, befestigt. Nach Aufhebung einer zeichnerisch nicht dargestellten Verriege­ lung läßt sich die Baueinheit 5, 6 im Uhrzeigersinn (Pfeil 10) aus der Normalstellung (Fig. 1) um ca. 90° um eine Gebrauchs­ stellung (Fig. 2) verschwenken, in der der Querträger 5 von oben zugänglich darliegt. Auch in dieser Gebrauchsstellung ist die Baueinheit 5, 6 verriegelbar. Darüber hinaus können Maßnahmen ge­ troffen sein, beispielsweise durch entsprechende Anschläge im die Schwenkachse 9 enthaltenden Gelenk, die gewährleisten, daß sich die Baueinheit 5, 6 nur in dem Bereich zwischen Normal- und Ge­ brauchsstellung verschwenken läßt.A motor vehicle 1 has a bumper 3 in its rear region 2 , which consists of a cross member 5 which is supported on longitudinal members 4 and a plastic cover 6 .
