Description

The invention relates to a process for denitrification of an exhaust gas, in which the contaminated with NO x and oxygen and water vapor containing exhaust gas at a reaction temperature of 350 to 500 ° C in the presence of an iron sulfate-containing catalyst with NH₃ or with at 350 to 500 ° C NH₃-releasing substance is brought into contact in a reactor, the molar ratio of NO x to NH₃ being between 0.9: 1 and 1.1: 1.

Many exhaust gases that occur in chemical processes or in the combustion of fossil fuels contain, in addition to other pollutants, the oxides of nitrogen NO, NO₂ and N₂O, which are designated by the general formula NO x and the term "nitrogen oxides" used in technology are gaseous pollutants that act as environmental toxins and must therefore be removed from the exhaust gases before they are released into the atmosphere. The exhaust gases contaminated with nitrogen oxides contain between 100 and 10,000 mg NO x per Nm³ depending on their origin, the NO being the main amount which forms nitrogen oxides.

Die Entstickungsreaktion soll im Temperaturbereich von 350 bis 450°C ablaufen.DE-OS 24 54 515 describes a method for reduction known from nitrogen oxides, in which one with the nitrogen oxides a metal sulfate catalyst in an atmosphere in which Ammonia is present, merges and at which as Metal sulfate catalyst copper sulfate, manganese sulfate, Nickel sulfate, iron sulfate, cobalt sulfate, zinc sulfate or Aluminum sulfate or mixtures of these substances are used will. In this known method is also provided that the metal sulfate in an amount of  0.05 to 20 wt .-%, based on the weight of Catalyst and carrier used and that one Ammonia in the 0.67 to 4 times stoichiometric Crowd sets. The denitrification reaction is said to Run temperature range from 350 to 450 ° C.

From DE-OS 36 42 980 a method for catalytic reduction of NO contained in a gas known with the reducing agent NH₃, in which the NO-containing gas mixed with NH₃ and the mixture at 185 up to 500 ° C and at normal pressure on the catalyst Is brought reaction, the catalyst from a acidic carrier and the catalytically active substances CuSO₄, MnSO₄, FeSO₄ and / or Fe₂ (SO₄) ₃, which in an amount of 0.5 to 20 wt .-% on the carrier are upset. In this known method provided that the acidic carrier made of SiO₂, Aluminum silicates or α-Al₂O₃ and that NO-containing gas NH₃ in a molar ratio of NO to NH₃ = 1: 0.7 until 1: 1.3 is added.

Beim bekannten Verfahren hat sich alternativ als Katalysator kristallines Eisensulfat oder eine Mischung aus kristallinem Eisensulfat und kristallinem Mangansulfat bewährt, wobei der Katalysator eine Teilchengröße von 50 bis 500 µm hat.DE-OS 41 25 004 discloses a method for Denitrification in the manufacture of cement resulting exhaust gases, in which those loaded with raw meal Exhaust gases at 300 to 450 ° C with NH₃ in the presence of a Catalyst are reacted, the NH₃ the exhaust gas in a molar ratio NH₃ to NO = 0.7: 1 to 1.5: 1 is added and the catalytically active Substance iron sulfate or a mixture of iron sulfate and manganese sulfate is used. The procedure can be carried out particularly advantageously if the exhaust gas at 300 to 450 ° C taken from the preheater, with NH₃ mixed and a cyclone or fluidized bed reactor is supplied in which there is a catalyst which consists of a carrier which catalytically  active substance is doped, and that the exhaust gas after Leaving the cyclone or fluidized bed reactor in the Preheater is returned. In the known method has alternatively become a crystalline catalyst Iron sulfate or a mixture of crystalline Iron sulfate and crystalline manganese sulfate have been tried the catalyst has a particle size of 50 to 500 microns.

Finally, in the German patent application P 43 13 479.3, a method for denitrification of the waste gases resulting from the production of cement was proposed, in which ammonia is added to the waste gas after leaving the rotary kiln at a temperature of 750 to 950 ° C., the ratio NO x to NH₃ is 1: 0.8 to 1: 1, and in which the exhaust gas is brought into contact at a temperature of 300 to 450 ° C with a catalyst which contains iron sulfate or a mixture of iron sulfate and manganese sulfate as the active substance. It is also provided in this process that crystalline iron sulfate or a mixture of crystalline iron sulfate and crystalline manganese sulfate is used as the catalyst, the catalyst having a particle size of 50 to 500 μm and in the exhaust gas stream upstream of the top cyclone of the preheater in an amount of 0. 1 to 3 g / Nm³ is distributed.

In the implementation of the known methods shown that in some cases still in the denitrified exhaust gas NH₃ is present, which is already in very small quantities Odor nuisance leads and therefore if possible must be removed quantitatively from the exhaust gas. This so-called ammonia hatch must already at Denitrification reaction can be avoided, because a subsequent removal of the NH₃ from the exhaust would Expose denitrification processes to high costs.

The invention is therefore based on the object to provide a denitrification process of the type mentioned, which makes it possible to use NH₃ in the closest possible stoichiometric amount, based on NO x , to carry out the denitrification reaction in order to minimize the ammonia slip.

The object underlying the invention is achieved in that the catalyst used is FeSO₄, Fe₂ (SO₄) ₃, FeSO₄ · xH₂O (x = 1, 4, 7) and / or Fe₃ (SO₄) ₂ · 9H₂O, the catalyst either before loading the entry into the reactor with 1 to 6 moles of NH₃ per mole of catalyst at 20 to 80 ° C for 1 to 10 s or before entry into the reactor is mixed with the NH₃-donating substance. It has been shown that crystalline FeSO₄ or Fe₃ (SO₄) ₂ absorbs up to 6 moles of NH₃ when it is brought into contact with NH₃ at 20 to 80 ° C. This reaction, which is described for crystal water-free FeSO₄ in Gmelins Handbuch der inorganic-Chemie, Eisen, Part B, 1932, p. 434/435, can also be realized with crystal water-containing FeSO₄, crystal water-free Fe₂ (SO₄) ₃ or crystal water-containing Fe₂ (SO₄) ₃ are, preferably 1, 4 and 7 moles of H₂O per mole of FeSO₄ and 9 moles of H₂O are bound per mole of Fe₂ (SO) ₃. Surprisingly, it was found that the NH₃ complex-bound in an amount of 1 to 6 mol is released very quickly at 350 to 500 ° C in situ, therefore is in a very reactive form and thus enables a near-stoichiometric reaction of the NH₃ with NO x . The NH₃ can be used in a much more targeted way than before for denitrification in the way according to the invention. In an analogous manner, it was also found that a mixture which consists of the catalyst and an NH₃-donating substance and which is prepared before being introduced into the denitrification reactor enables a targeted introduction of the NH₃ into the denitrification reaction and thus enables a near-stoichiometric reaction with NO x . Even with fluctuations in the NO x content of the exhaust gases to be denitrified, no ammonia slip was observed when carrying out the process according to the invention, because the odor sample of the denoxified exhaust gases was negative with respect to NH 3.

In a further embodiment of the invention, that the reaction temperature is 400 to 450 ° C. In this temperature range could with the invention Process a denitrification performance <90% safe be respected.

According to the invention, it has proven to be particularly advantageous proved if an entrained flow reactor, a Fluidized bed reactor or a system of a circulating Fluidized bed is used. In the entrained flow reactor should the entered solid particles a medium Particle diameter d₅₀ from 10 to 50 microns. in the Fluidized bed reactor are solid particles with a average particle diameter of 50 to 500 microns use. In the system of the circulating fluidized bed is a medium one for the entered solid particles Particle diameter d₅₀ to choose from 20 to 200 µm. The Gas velocity in the fluidized bed reactor is 0.5 up to 3 m / s, in the system of the circulating fluidized bed 3 to 8 m / s, preferably 4 to 5 m / s, and in Entrained flow reactor 6 to 20 m / s. The circulating Fluid bed is designed as a circulation system that consisting of a reactor, a solid separator and one Solid return line exists. The circulating Fluidized bed is characterized in that - in Difference to the classic fluidized bed, in which one  dense phase by a clear density jump from that gas room above is separated - Distribution states without a defined boundary layer available. A leap in density between the dense phase and above gas space is in a circulating Fluidized bed does not exist; however takes place within the Reactor the solids concentration from bottom to top constantly off. The operating conditions of a circulating Fluidized bed are known about the key figures of Froude and Archimedes determined.

According to the invention as a NH₃-donating substance Urea, ammonium hydrogen carbonate, ammonium carbonate or ammonium oxalate used. These substances disintegrate especially in the presence of that contained in the exhaust gas Water vapor at 350 to 500 ° C to form NH₃, the decay rate is so high that always enough NH₃ for the denitrification reaction Available.

According to the invention it is provided that the loading of the Catalyst in a fluidized bed or in a system circulating fluidized bed takes place, being used as a fluidizing gas cooled, denitrified exhaust gas or air is used, which contain 0.1 to 3 vol .-% NH₃. Under these Conditions can be a sufficiently large amount of NH₃ to the Catalyst are added so that per mole of catalyst in any case 3 to 4 moles of NH₃ are bound.

The inventive method can be carried out particularly inexpensively if the contact time of the NO x- containing exhaust gas with the NH₃-containing catalyst or the mixture consisting of the catalyst and the NH₃-emitting substance in the reactor is 1 to 0.05 s.

According to the invention, the process for the denitrification of exhaust gases from cement production is used. The exhaust gases from cement production contain approx. 1000 to 2000 mg NO x / Nm³ exhaust gas, and a denitrification performance of <85% is achieved with the method according to the invention.

The object of the invention is based on the Drawing and an embodiment closer explained.

Fig. 1 shows the application of the method according to the invention for the denitrification of exhaust gases which occur in the production of energy by burning coal. Coal is fed to the boiler ( 1 ) via line ( 3 ) and is burned with the air introduced via line ( 2 ). The combustion process is carried out with an excess of air, so that about 3 to 8 vol .-% oxygen are contained in the combustion exhaust gas. When coal is burned in the boiler ( 1 ), the gaseous pollutants SO₂ and NO x are formed in addition to the combustion products CO₂ and H₂O. The water is present in the combustion exhaust gas as water vapor. NO x is present in the combustion exhaust gas in an amount of 250 mg per Nm³, calculated as NO. In fact, the NO x in the combustion exhaust gas is 90% NO and 10% NO₂. The combustion exhaust gas also contains dusty fly ash. In the upper part of the boiler ( 1 ), part of the heat of combustion is already extracted from the combustion exhaust gas by heat exchanger surfaces, which are not shown in the drawing. The ash generated during combustion is removed from the boiler ( 1 ) via line ( 25 ). The combustion exhaust gas contaminated with SO₂, flying dust and NO x is fed from the boiler ( 1 ) via line ( 4 ) into the heat exchanger ( 5 ), where it cools down to approx. 450 ° C. The heat of combustion extracted from the heat exchanger ( 5 ) is used to generate energy. The combustion exhaust gas passes through line ( 6 ) into a system with a circulating fluidized bed, which consists of the reactor ( 8 ), the separator ( 10 ) and the return line ( 11 ).

The fluidized bed reactor ( 23 ) is fed from the storage bunker ( 21 ) via line ( 22 ) FeSO₄ · 7H₂O, which has an average particle diameter d₅₀ of 50 microns. The fluidized bed reactor ( 23 ) is fed via line ( 20 ) air, which is mixed from the storage tank ( 18 ) via line ( 19 ) NH₃ in an amount of 1 vol .-%. The NH₃-containing air used as fluidizing gas generates a "classic" fluidized bed in the fluidized bed reactor ( 23 ) and has a gas velocity of about 1 m / s. The fluidized bed reactor ( 23 ) is operated at a temperature of 70 ° C, and the FeSO₄ · 7H₂O has a mean residence time of about 8 s in the fluidized bed reactor ( 23 ). A partial stream of FeSO₄ · 7H₂O, which has taken up in the fluidized bed reactor ( 23 ) per mole of 4 moles of NH₃, is conveyed via the line ( 26 ) into the reservoir ( 17 ). The fluidizing gas leaving the fluidized bed reactor ( 23 ) is mixed with the combustion air carried in line ( 2 ) via line ( 24 ). Instead of the air used as fluidizing gas, a partial stream of the denitrified, cooled exhaust gas can also be used, the O₂ content of which is only 3 to 8% by volume.

Pro Nm³ Abgas werden dem Reaktor folgende Katalysator- und NH₃-Mengen zugeführt:At the measuring point ( 27 ) arranged in the line ( 6 ), the NO x content of the combustion exhaust gas is measured continuously. Depending on the NO x content, the reactor ( 8 ) is fed via line ( 16 ) with the catalyst loaded with NH₃. The catalyst is introduced immediately above the confluence of the exhaust line ( 6 ) and the reactor ( 8 ). The following amounts of catalyst and NH₃ are fed to the reactor per Nm³ of exhaust gas:

200 mg NOx pro Nm³ Abgas = 416 mg FeSO₄·7 H₂O·4 NH₃
250 mg NOx pro Nm³ Abgas = 521 mg FeSO₄·7 H₂O·4 NH₃
300 mg NOx pro Nm³ Abgas = 625 mg FeSO₄·7 H₂O·4 NH₃
200 mg NO x per Nm³ exhaust gas = 416 mg FeSO₄ · 7 H₂O · 4 NH₃
250 mg NO x per Nm³ exhaust gas = 521 mg FeSO₄ · 7 H₂O · 4 NH₃
300 mg NO x per Nm³ exhaust gas = 625 mg FeSO₄ · 7 H₂O · 4 NH₃

This corresponds to a molar ratio of NO x : NH₃ = 1: 1.05. The solid matter contained in the reactor (dust and catalyst) is mostly carried with the exhaust gas via line ( 9 ) into the separator ( 10 ) designed as a cyclone, where gas-solid separation takes place. The solid separated in the cyclone ( 10 ) is removed via line ( 11 ), a partial stream being discharged via line ( 28 ) and a second partial stream being returned via line ( 29 ) to the reactor ( 8 ). The recycled solid is fluidized with the partial flow of the exhaust gas carried in line ( 7 ). In the reactor ( 8 ), the catalyst loaded with NH₃ releases the NH₃ very quickly and reduces the NO x to nitrogen. Unused NH₃ is oxidized to nitrogen by the oxygen contained in the exhaust gas. The reactor ( 8 ) is operated at a gas velocity of 5 m / s above the confluence of the exhaust line ( 6 ). The waste gas has an average residence time (reaction time) of 0.1 to 0.2 s in the reactor. Due to the partial circulation of the solid, the NH₃ content of the catalyst is used almost quantitatively for the denitrification reaction.

Das in der Leitung (15) geführte Abgas enthält kein NH₃.The denitrified exhaust gas leaves the separator ( 10 ) via line ( 12 ) and enters the electrostatic precipitator ( 13 ), where around 90% of the solid particles still present in the exhaust gas (dust and catalyst) are separated and exiting via line ( 14 ) can be removed from the electrostatic filter ( 13 ). Heat exchanger surfaces can be arranged in the separator ( 10 ) and in the line ( 12 ) in order to set the optimum dedusting temperature. The dedusted exhaust gas leaves the electrostatic filter ( 13 ) via line ( 15 ) with a NO x content of <30 mg / Nm³, which corresponds to a denitrification performance of 85 to 90%. The exhaust gas in line ( 15 ) contains no NH₃.

The SO₂ is then separated off from the denitrified exhaust gas conducted in line ( 15 ) using a known method. The solids in lines ( 14 ) and ( 28 ) can either be deposited separately or combined with the ashes carried in line ( 25 ) and then deposited.

Fig. 2 shows the application of the method according to the invention for the denitrification of exhaust gases which are produced in the cement production. The production of the cement includes the extraction and preparation of the raw materials, the burning of the raw material mixture to cement clinker, the production of the additives and the joint grinding of the clinker and, if necessary, one or more additives with calcium sulfate as a solidification regulator. The raw materials (limestone and clay) are ground dry and provide the raw meal. The raw meal is dried by a hot gas during the grinding process, then warmed up and then burned to cement clinker. Depending on the design of the kiln, the raw meal is heated to the firing temperature of 1450 ° C for approx. 1 to 2 h and remains at this temperature for approx. 10 to 20 min.

Then the cement clinker becomes as fast as possible cooled down. In the kiln form at the high Firing flame temperatures in significant quantities of oxides of nitrogen, preferably NO, from the exhaust gases must be removed.

From the grinding plant ( 1 ), which also includes a homogenization and drying device, the raw cement meal is introduced via line ( 2 ) into line ( 3 a) of the preheater consisting of several cyclones. The raw meal is suspended in the exhaust gas stream which flows in line ( 3 a) and passes via line ( 3 b) into the cyclone ( 4 ), where the solid particles are separated. The solid particles pass through line ( 5 ) into line ( 6 a), where they are suspended again in the exhaust gas stream which flows in line ( 6 a). The suspension then passes via line ( 6 b) into the cyclone ( 7 ), where the solid particles are separated again, which pass through line ( 8 ) into line ( 9 a), where they are resuspended in the exhaust gas stream. The exhaust gas from the cyclone ( 7 ) enters the line ( 3 a). From the line ( 9 a) the solid suspension enters via line ( 9 b) into the cyclone ( 10 ), where it is separated into its components. While the exhaust gas flows off via line ( 6 a), the solid particles are fed via line ( 11 ) to line ( 12 a), in which they are suspended in the exhaust gas stream from the kiln ( 13 ) designed as a rotary kiln into the line ( 12 a) arrives. The solid suspension enters the cyclone ( 14 ) via line ( 12 b), where the separation of the solid suspension takes place. While the exhaust gas flows through line ( 9 a), the solids separated in the cyclone ( 14 ) reach the furnace ( 13 ) via line ( 15 ), where they slowly flow towards the flame generated by the burner ( 16 ) . The cement clinker is removed from the kiln ( 13 ) designed as a rotary kiln via line ( 17 ). The cement raw meal usually has a temperature of 800 to 900 ° C in line ( 15 ), while an exhaust gas temperature of approx. 1100 to 1200 ° C prevails in line ( 12 a). On the way through the individual cyclones of the preheater, the exhaust gas cools down and the thermal energy is absorbed by the raw cement meal. The exhaust gas enters line ( 3 a) at a temperature of approximately 500 to 600 ° C and cools down in line ( 3 b) and in the cyclone ( 4 ) to a temperature of 350 to 450 ° C. From the cyclone ( 4 ), the exhaust gas for fine dust removal via line ( 18 ) enters an electrostatic filter, which is not shown in the drawing.

From the storage bunker ( 23 ), crystal water-free FeSO₄, which has an average particle diameter d₅₀ of 50 µm, is introduced into the fluidized bed reactor ( 22 ) via the line ( 24 ). The FeSO₄ in the fluidized bed reactor ( 22 ) is fluidized with air, which is introduced into the fluidized bed reactor ( 22 ) via the line ( 21 ) at a gas velocity of 1 m / s. The air used as fluidizing gas is mixed from the storage tank ( 19 ) via the line ( 20 ) 1 vol .-% NH₃. Instead of air, cooled, cleaned exhaust gas can be used as the fluidizing gas. The FeSO₄ has an average residence time of 8 s in the fluidized bed reactor ( 22 ). The fluidized bed reactor ( 22 ) is operated at a temperature of 50 to 60 ° C, the FeSO₄ binds 6 moles of NH₃. From the fluidized bed reactor ( 22 ), the catalyst loaded with NH₃ is conveyed via line ( 25 ) into the metering device ( 26 ) and then passes via line ( 27 ) into line ( 3 b). The entry of the catalyst loaded with NH₃ takes place at a point where the temperature is about 420 ° C. The exhaust gas conducted in lines ( 3 a) and ( 3 b) has an average NO x content of 1000 mg per Nm³ exhaust gas, calculated as NO. Approximately 750 g of raw cement meal per Nm³ of exhaust gas are also suspended in the exhaust gas. At the measuring point ( 29 ), the NO x content of the exhaust gas is continuously determined, and the amount of the catalyst loaded with NH₃ is regulated according to the NO x concentration. The following amounts of catalyst and NH 3 are fed via line ( 27 ) to the gas-solid suspension carried in line ( 3 b):

900 mg NO pro Nm³ Abgas = 1330 mg FeSO₄·6 NH₃
1000 mg NO pro Nm³ Abgas = 1480 mg FeSO₄·6 NH₃
1100 mg NO pro Nm³ Abgas = 1630 mg FeSO₄·6 NH₃
900 mg NO per Nm³ exhaust gas = 1330 mg FeSO₄ · 6 NH₃
1000 mg NO per Nm³ exhaust gas = 1480 mg FeSO₄ · 6 NH₃
1100 mg NO per Nm³ exhaust gas = 1630 mg FeSO₄ · 6 NH₃

This corresponds to a molar ratio of NO x to NH₃ = 1: 1.05. In the line ( 3 b) and in the cyclone ( 4 ) the NH₃ is split off very quickly and reduces the existing NO x to nitrogen, the degree of denitrification being <90%. The exhaust gas carried in line ( 18 ) has a NO x content, calculated as NO, <100 mg per Nm³; Ammonia could not be detected in the denitrified exhaust gas. The fluidizing gas emerging from the fluidized bed reactor ( 22 ) is fed via line ( 28 ) into the burner ( 16 ) and used there as combustion air.

According to the invention, it is possible to introduce the NH₃ in the form of NH₃-releasing substances in the denitrification reactor in such a way that an NH₃-releasing substance is mixed with the catalyst before entering the reactor. Urea has proven particularly useful as an NH 3 -releasing substance. To denitrify 1 Nm³ of exhaust gas from cement production with a NO x content of 1000 mg per Nm³, a mixture of 1 g of crystal-water-free FeSO₄ and 1.05 g of urea can be introduced into line ( 3 b). A degree of denitrification of <90% is also achieved with this method of working.

The catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides is achieved by Presence of the raw meal dust is not impaired, so that dust removal from the exhaust gas before denitrification is required. The amount of catalyst required is so low that it can remain in the raw cement meal without that there are disruptions in the quality of the cement, especially since one certain amount of iron oxide is present in the cement clinker got to.
