Schmelzgefäß. Um schwer schmelzbare Harze und Cornpoundmassen zu erwärmen und zu schmelzen, waren bisher beheizte einfache Gefäße in Gebrauch, in welchen jedoch das Schmelzen zu lange Zeit in Anspruch nimmt. An den Wandungen des Gefäßes schmilzt die Masse sehr schnell, es bildet sich aber zwischen der Wandung und der noch festen Masse eine Flüssigkeitsschicht, die nur sehr langsam stärker wird und die Wärme mangelhaft von der Heizfläche nach dem Kern überträgt. Um diese Masse schneller zu schmelzen und zu erhitzen, wird ein dampfbeheiztes Röhrensystem a angeordnet, welches sich in einem Behälter b mit beheiztem doppelwandigen Boden c befindet. Die HeizflIche ist so groß, daß das Schme'zen in kurzer Zeit vor sich .gehen kann. Die vielen innerhalb der Röhren befindlichen Kerne der Masse schmelzen schneller als ein Kern von dem großen Durchinesser des Gefäßes. Um die Masse d durchmischen zu können, wird eine Umlaufpumpe e in Tätigkeit gesetzt, die mit dem Gefäß durch die Rohrleitungen f und g in Verbindung steht.
