Die Drosselklappen brauchen nicht wie Ablaßventile absolut dicht abzuschließen, es genügt, daß siel den Wasserdurchtritt derart verengen, daßi ene genügende Wassermenge durch die offene Leitung hindurchfließt. Sie können auch un-,gleicharmig ausgeführt werden, derart, daß sie durch den Spülstrom zugedrückt werden, während sie durch den Speisestrom aufgedrückt werden. In diesem Falle würde der Arbeiter nur immer die Leitung von außen offen halten, deren Element er gerade reinigen will, während die anderen Drosselklappen von selbst geschlossen bleiben.
