i Mol.
Process for the preparation of di- and tetraiodisatin. The representation
Isatins which have been iodized twice or more by direct iodination are still used up to now
failed. Only one monoiodisatin is known. By modified accordingly
Test conditions now succeed in producing a diiododisatin and tetraiodisatin.
These two connections arise side by side when looking at a solution from
i mole of isatin in concentrated mineral acid a solution of 2 moles of chloroiodine act
leaves. If the reaction product is poured into a lot of ice water, the di- and fall
Tetraiodisatin in excellent yield and high purity after standing for a short time
and can be easily separated due to their different solubility.
Example: 3.7 g of isatin are dissolved in 80 cc of concentrated hydrochloric acid

which increases rapidly while the dark brown colored liquid becomes lighter

A lot of an orange-red colored body fails. The connection turns out to be
not as a uniform substance, because it shows when recrystallized from hot alcohol
that the larger part comes off fairly easily, while the smaller part
is very difficult to resolve.

schwer in verdünntem Alkali. Die :Ausbeute beträgt etwa 6 Prozestit der Theorie.

The poorly soluble part falls out of the boiling alcoholic solution when it cools

The multiply iodized isatins are said to be essential ingredients for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals
