Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zum Herstellen eines stückigen oder geformten Brennstoffes aus feinem Koks oder Koksgrus, dem auch Braunkohle bzw. Braunkohlenkoks beigemischt sein kann. Die Erfindung geht dabei aus von dem bekannten Verfahren, nach welchem Koksklein oder Koksgrus mit Hilfe eines Bindemittels geformt und durch Erhitzurg unter Luftabschluß verfestigt wird. Praktische Verwertung hat dieses Verfahren bisher nicht gefunden, weil die Brennstoffstücke keine genügende Festigkeit erlangten, sondern auseinanderfielen. Die Erfindung besteht in der Erkenntnis, daß dieser Mangel dadurch beseitigt werden kann, daß der Koks in gleichmäßig feiner Körnung ohne stückige Beimengungen vorher derart erwärmt wird, daß sein Feuchtigkeitsgehalt erheblich verringert wird. Diesem trockenen Koks wird dann erst das Bindemittel und gegebenenfalls die Braunkohle beigemischt. Ein Pressen unter hohem Druck ist nicht nötig, und die wertvollen Bestandteile des Bindemittels werden durch Vergasung zurückgewonnen.Process for the production of a lumpy or shaped fuel from coke.
