Verfahren zur Herstellung von Sprengstoffen. Zur Herstellung von Sprengstoffen wird Pflanzenmehl als wirksame Komponente verwandt. In dem engl. Patent iSoo vom io. Juni 1869 wird die Verwendung von Torf, der gemahlen als Pflanzenmehl anzusprechen ist, zur Herstellung von Sprengstoffen unter Schutz gestellt. Es hat sich nun herausgestellt, daß es für die Wirkung der Sprengstoffe nicht gleichgültig ist, in welcher Form das Torfmehl Verwendung findet. Bei. dem gewöhnlichen Herstellungsverfahren von Torfmehl fällt dieses als feines Pulver von verhältnismäßig glatter Oberfläche. Je mehr das Torfmehl in sich gelockert und je rauher die Oberfläche der einzelnen Mehlstäubchen ist, um so besser ist das Torfmehl zur Herstelung von Sprengstoffen geeignet, da sich bei möglichst lockerer Form des Torfmehls eine innigere Mischung mit den andern Sprengstoffkomponenten ergibt und der Sprengstoff infolgedessen und infolge der größeren Oberfläche, die er bietet, größere Wirkung hat.Process for the manufacture of explosives.
