Description
Die Erfindung betrifft neuartige Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyole,
ein Verfahren zu ihrer Herstellung, bei dem man Epoxidverbin
dungen mit Bis-Sorbitylamin einer Ringöffnung unterwirft so
wie die Verwendung dieser Produkte zur Herstellung von Poly
meren.
Polyole, also Verbindungen, die mindestens zwei Hydroxylgrup
pen aufweisen, stellen wertvolle Ausgangsstoffe für die Her
stellung von Polymeren, beispielsweise Polyurethanschäumen
oder Gießharzen dar.
Zu ihrer Synthese kann man beispielsweise von Olefinen, un
gesättigten Triglyceriden oder Fettsäureniedrigalkylestern
ausgehen, die zunächst epoxidiert und dann einer Ringöffnung
mit geeigneten Nucleophilen unterworfen werden. Eine Über
sicht hierzu findet sich beispielsweise in Fat. Sci. Technol.
89, 147 (1987). Polyole dieser Art lassen sich problemlos mit
Isocyanaten zu Polyurethanen umsetzen, die beispielsweise als
Bauschäume Anwendung finden.
Für spezielle Polyurethan-Anwendungen kann es von Vorteil
sein, aminische Polyolkomponenten einzusetzen. Zur Bereit
stellung solcher Stoffe geht man üblicherweise wiederum von
Epoxiden aus und setzt als Nucleophile zur Öffnung der Oxi
ranringe Ammoniak oder primäre bzw. sekundäre Amine ein.
Zur Herstellung hochvernetzter Polyurethanschäume besteht
weiterhin ein Bedürfnis nach Polyolkomponenten mit einer
möglichst großen Anzahl von Hydroxylgruppen. Für diesen Zweck
werden zur Ringöffnung der Epoxide Polyole, wie beispiels
weise Glycerin, Sorbit oder Trimethylolpropan eingesetzt.
Die Aufgabe der Erfindung bestand nun darin, neue Stoffe für
die Herstellung von Polymeren bereitzustellen, mit deren
Hilfe gleichzeitig sowohl das Bedürfnis nach aminischen Poly
hydroxyverbindungen, als auch nach Polyolen mit einer Viel
zahl von Hydroxylgruppen befriedigt werden kann.
Gegenstand der Erfindung sind Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyole, die
man dadurch erhält, daß man Epoxidverbindungen mit Bis-Sor
bitylamin der Formel (I),
Z-NH-Z (I)
in der Z für einen Sorbitylrest steht, einer Ringöffnung un
terwirft.
Überraschenderweise wurde gefunden, daß bloßes Erhitzen aus
reicht, um Epoxide und Bis-Sorbitylamin rasch und vollständig
zu Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyolen umzusetzen, die sich ihrerseits
problemlos mit Isocyanaten zu Aminopolyurethanen umsetzen
lassen.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren
zur Herstellung von Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyolen, bei dem man
Epoxidverbindungen mit Bis-Sorbitylamin der Formel (I),
Z-NH-Z (I)
in der Z für einen Sorbitylrest steht, einer Ringöffnung un
terwirft.
Als Epoxidverbindungen kommen beispielsweise Anlagerungspro
dukte von Sauerstoffan terminale (alpha-) oder innenständige
(i-) Olefine in Betracht, die der Formel (II) folgen,
R2-CH=CH-R3 (II)
in der R2 für einen linearen oder verzweigten Alkylrest mit 1
bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen und R3 für Wasserstoff oder R2
steht.
Typische Beispiele sind Epoxide von 1-Octen, 2-Octen, 1-De
cen, 2-Decen, 3-Decen, 4-Decen, 1-Dodecen, 2-Dodecen, 3-Do
dedecen, 4-Dodecen, 5-Dodecen, 6-Dodecen, 1-Tetradecen, 2-
Tetradecen, 3-Tetradecen, 4-Tetradecen, 5-Tetradecen, 6-Tetra
decen, 7-Tetradecen, 1-Octaden, 2-Octadecen, 3-Octadecen, 4-
Octadecen, 5-Octadecen, 6-Octadecen, 7-Octadecen und 8-Octa
decen sowie deren technischen Mischungen. Vorzugsweise werden
alpha- bzw. i-Olefine eingesetzt, die in Summe 8 bis 18 Koh
lenstoffatome aufweisen.
Als weitere Einsatzstoffe kommen Epoxide einfach oder mehr
fach ungesättigter Fettsäureniedrigalkylester der Formel
(III) in Betracht,
R4CO-OR5 (III)
in der R4CO für einen ungesättigten Acylrest mit 16 bis 22
Kohlenstoffatomen und R5 für einen linearen oder verzweigten
Alkylrest mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen steht.
Typische Beispiele sind epoxidierte Methyl-, Ethyl-, Propyl-
oder Butylester von Palmoleinsäure, Ölsäure, Elaidinsäure,
Petroselinsäure, Linolsäure, Linolensäure, Gadoleinsäure und
Erucasäure sowie deren technischen Mischungen. Die einge
setzten Epoxide können vollständig epoxidiert vorliegen, sie
können jedoch auch noch Doppelbindungen enthalten; vorzugs
weise liegt der Epoxidierungsgrad - bezogen auf die zur Ver
fügung stehenden Doppelbindungen - bei 50 bis 100 und ins
besondere 70 bis 95%. Da zur Herstellung der epoxidierten
Fettsäureester üblicherweise technische Schnitte ungesättig
ter Fettsäureniedrigalkylester herangezogen werden, die noch
gesättigte Anteile enthalten, können die Einsatzepoxide
folglich ebenfalls geringe Anteile gesättigter Fettsäure
niedrigalkylester aufweisen. Das bevorzugte Einsatzmaterial
ist Ölsäuremethylesterepoxid mit einem Epoxidsauerstoffgehalt
von 4,5 bis 5,1 Gew.-%.
Als weitere Einsatzstoffe kommen schließlich Epoxide ungesät
tigter Fettsäureglycerinester der Formel (IV) in Betracht,
in der R5CO, R6CO und R7CO unabhängig voneinander für unge
sättigte Acylreste mit 16 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen stehen.
Typische Beispiele sind Epoxide von ungesättigten Triglyce
riden pflanzlicher oder tierischer Herkunft, wie etwa Sojaöl,
Rüböl, Olivenöl, Sonnenblumenöl, Baumwollsaatöl, Erdnußöl,
Leinöl, Rindertalg oder Fischöl. Auch diese Einsatzstoffe
können gesättigte Anteile enthalten; üblicherweise werden
jedoch Epoxide solcher Fettsäureglycerinester eingesetzt, die
eine Iodzahl im Bereich von 50 bis 150, vorzugsweise 85 bis
115 aufweisen. Wie schon zuvor geschildert, kommen als Ein
satzstoffe sowohl vollständig, wie auch partiell epoxidierte
Ester in Betracht. Bevorzugter Einsatzstoffist epoxidiertes
Sojaöl mit einem Epoxidsauerstoffgehalt von 4,5 bis 6,5
Gew.-%.
Als Nucleophil für die Ringöffnung der genannten Einsatz
epoxide dient Bis-Sorbitylamin, das man nach bekannten Ver
fahren durch reduktive Aminierung von Glucose mit Ammoniak
erhalten kann.
Üblicherweise können die Epoxide und das Bis-Sorbitylamin im
molaren Verhältnis von 1 : 0,5 bis 1 : 1,5, vorzugsweise 1 :
0,9 bis 1 : 1,1 - bezogen auf den Epoxidgehalt - eingesetzt
werden.
Im Hinblick auf eine möglichst kurze Reaktionszeit empfiehlt
es sich, die Ringöffnungsreaktion bei Temperaturen von 80 bis
150, vorzugsweise 110 bis 130°C durchzuführen.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyole eignen sich
als Rohstoffe zur Herstellung von Polymeren. Sie können bei
spielsweise in Alkydharze sowohl über die Hydroxylfunktionen
als auch über noch im Molekül befindliche Epoxidgruppen ein
kondensiert werden und stellen aminische, multifunktionelle
Polykondensationsbausteine dar, wie sie insbesondere für die
Entwicklung von Polyurethanschäumen von Wichtigkeit sind.
Ein weiterer Gegenstand der Erfindung betrifft daher die Ver
wendung der erfindungsgemäßen Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyole zur
Herstellung von Polymeren, in denen sie zu 1 bis 90, vorzugs
weise 10 bis 70 Gew. -% - bezogen auf die Polymeren - enthal
ten sein können.
Die folgenden Beispiele sollen den Gegenstand der Erfindung
näher erläutern, ohne ihn darauf einzuschränken.
Ringöffnung von 1-Hexadecenepoxid mit Bis-Sorbitylamin. In
einem 1-l-Dreihalskolben mit Rührer, Tropftrichter und Rück
flußkühler wurde eine Mischung von 80 g (0,33 mol) 1-Hexade
cenepoxid und 346 g (1 mol) Bis-Sorbitylamin vorgelegt und
auf 130°C erhitzt. Innerhalb von 30 min wurden weitere 160 g
(0,66 mol) 1-Hexadecenepoxid zugetropft, wobei die Temperatur
auf 135 bis 140°C anstieg. Nach Beendigung der Epoxidzugabe
wurde der Reaktionsansatz weitere 30 min bei 130°C gerührt.
Das Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyol wurde in praktisch quantitativer
Ausbeute als hellgelb gefärbtes Öl erhalten; der Restepoxid
sauerstoffgehalt betrug 0,1 Gew.-%.
Ringöffnung von 8-Hexadecenepoxid mit Bis-Sorbitylamin. Bei
spiel 1 wurde unter Einsatz von insgesamt 240 g (1 mol) 8-
Hexadecenepoxid und 346 g (1 mol) Bis-sorbitylamin wieder
holt. Das Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyol wurde in praktisch quan
titativer Ausbeute als hellgelb gefärbtes Öl erhalten; der
Restpoxidsauerstoffgehalt betrug 0,1 Gew.-%.
Ringöffnung von Ölsäuremethylesterepoxid mit Bis-Sorbityl
amin. Beispiel 1 wurde unter Einsatz von insgesamt 312 g (1
mol) Ölsäuremethylesterepoxid (Edenor® MeTiO5-Epoxid,
Epoxidsauerstoffgehalt 5,1 Gew.-%, Henkel KGaA, Düsseldorf/
FRG) und 346 g (1 mol) Bis-Sorbitylamin wiederholt. Das
Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyol wurde in praktisch quantitativer
Ausbeute als hellgelb gefärbtes Öl erhalten; der Restpoxid
sauerstoffgehalt betrug 0,1 Gew.-%.
Ringöffnung von Sojaölepoxid mit Bis-Sorbitylamin. Beispiel 1
wurde unter Einsatz von insgesamt 929 g (1 mol) Sojaölepoxid
(Edenor® D81, Epoxidsauerstoffgehalt 6,5 Gew.-%, Henkel
KGaA, Düsseldorf/FRG) und 346 g (1 mol) Bis-Sorbitylamin wie
derholt. Das Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyol wurde in praktisch quan
titativer Ausbeute als hellgelb gefärbtes Öl erhalten; der
Restepoxidsauerstoffgehalt betrug 0,1 Gew.-%.
Claims (8)
1. Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyole, dadurch erhältlich, daß man
Epoxidverbindungen mit Bis-Sorbitylamin der Formel (I),
Z-NH-Z (I)in der Z für einen Sorbitylrest steht, einer Ringöffnung
unterwirft.
2. Verfahren zur Herstellung von Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyolen,
bei dem man Epoxidverbindungen mit Bis-Sorbitylamin der
Formel (I),
Z-NH-Z (I)in der Z für einen Sorbitylrest steht, einer Ringöffnung
unterwirft.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
man Epoxide von Olefinen der Formel (II) einsetzt,
R2-CH=CH-R3 (II)in der R2 für einen linearen oder verzweigten Alkylrest
mit 1 bis 22 Kohlenstoffatomen und R3 für Wasserstoff
oder R2 steht.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
man Epoxide von ungesättigten Fettsäureniedrigalkyl
estern der Formel (III) einsetzt,
R4CO-OR5 (III)in der R4CO für einen ungesättigten Acylrest mit 16 bis
22 Kohlenstoffatomen und R5 für einen linearen oder
verzweigten Alkylrest mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen
steht.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
man Epoxide von ungesättigten Fettsäureglycerinestern
der Formel (IV) einsetzt,
in der R6CO, R7CO und R8CO unabhängig voneinander für
ungesättigte Acylreste mit 16 bis 24 Kohlenstoffatomen
stehen.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
man die Epoxide und das Bis-Sorbitylamin im molaren Ver
hältnis von 1 : 0,5 bis 1 : 1,5 - bezogen auf den
Epoxidgehalt - einsetzt.
7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
man die Ringöffnung bei Temperaturen von 80 bis 150°C
durchführt.
8. Verwendung von Bis-Sorbitylaminopolyolen nach Anspruch 1
zur Herstellung von Polymeren.
