Brake for waxing devices. With the waxing devices,
known as paraffineurs, it is disadvantageous that the device,
if the thread breaks, it does not stop immediately, but under the influence of your own
Momentum continues to run for a while. The consequence is that the thread which
runs against the paraffin roll and between the two halves of the same,
is now clamped between the paraffin rolls and wrapped backwards.
Because the crack regularly occurs between the paraffin roll and the take-up reel,
because naturally this is where the greatest tension is present. The winder must then
Fizzle out the thread first in order to be able to re-tension it, what a more or
less loss of time. If the rollers are still a little worn out, they must
he regularly lift one of these at all from the shaft so that he can hold onto the thread
can approach.
The present invention is intended to remedy this deficiency in that
a brake is provided, which stops immediately if the thread breaks
the whole device obtained. The brake is activated by the thread to be wound
triggered and put into action.
An embodiment of the invention is shown in elevation in Figures i and z
and floor plan shown. The cord whorl a rests firmly on a sleeve, which
also carries the paraffin roll c. This is held by a spring against the wooden disc
b pressed. The thread runs between the two. The well-known common brake
i acts on the wooden disc k of the whorl a in order to adjust the thread tension in a known manner
to generate.
A toothed disc d is now also firmly attached to the whorl a.
The double lever e engages in this, which is rotatably mounted at point f,
whose stroke is limited by a stop h. The bobbin thread is around one end
of the double lever, the other one engages in the teeth by means of a locking hook
the disk d a. If the thread is taut, it pulls one end of the double lever
and thereby disengages the other end from the toothed washer. But tears
the thread, the free end of the double lever sinks due to its excess weight
down and moves the other end so far against the toothed washer that the locking hook
hooks into the teeth of the same and an immediate standstill of the whole device
brings about. The drawing shows the moment where at the moment of the
Thread break the brake engaged in the brake disc and the device to
Has brought to a standstill.

The thread must be placed over the whorl in such a way that the paraffin rolls are

that's how she winds the thread. It tightens itself in a known manner under the
