Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a process for the production of olefins according to the preamble of claim 1 and an annex to the Execution.
Such olefin plants belong since, for example, as ethylene plants many years to the well-known state of the art. Produce ethylene plants by thermal cracking of the hydrocarbons used in Presence of water vapor, especially ethylene. In addition, fall still other products such as in particular propylene and isobutylene. When Feed come different mixtures of liquid and / or gaseous hydrocarbons in question, for example naphtha, ethane, LPG or gas oil. The entire feed is through passed a thermal cracking stage. The generated cracking products then go through a heat exchanger for the recovery of Heat energy before being placed in a primary fractionation unit in gaseous and liquid fractions are divided. The gaseous Shares become known after carrying out a hydrogenation in Manner decomposed into more individual fractions, especially those from Hydrocarbons having two, three or four carbon atoms.
Depending on the composition of the feed material arise in one such plant quantities for the individual end products (in particular ethylene, propylene and isobutylene) obtained by alteration the process parameters can only be varied within relatively narrow limits can. This adjustment latitude is often not sufficient to the changing volume requirements of the markets quickly and to be able to react flexibly, without changing the composition of the Feedstock used hydrocarbons change significantly have to.
The object of the invention is therefore to provide a method which the previously given in Olefinanlagen opportunities for varying the Quantities of the products produced significantly extended without the appreciably increase the necessary construction costs. In addition, should a plant will be proposed for carrying out this process.
This object is achieved according to the invention for a generic Method with the characterizing features of patent claim 1. Advantageous developments of the method are in the dependent claims 2-11 indicated. An installation for carrying out the method has the Features of claim 12 and is characterized by the characterizing Features of claims 13-19 in an advantageous manner capacities configurable.
The basic idea of the present invention is to be seen in that as feedstock hydrocarbons are not used in their Entity can be performed in the same way by the Olefinanlage. Rather, it is about two initially independent mass flows for the feedstock. The first mass flow consists of any hydrocarbons (eg naphtha), as is customary, z. B. be used in ethylene plants. This mass flow is in conventional way, d. H. at temperatures in the range 800 to 900 ° C and pressing well below 5 bar (eg 1-3 bar) in the presence thermally cracked by water vapor. The second of them independent Mass flow is a gas stream rich in isobutane and will also thermally cracked, but at lower temperatures in the range 650 to max. 830 ° C and especially at much higher pressures in the Range 10 to 50 bar. Only then does a partial merger take place intermediate and end products instead, depending on the embodiment of the Invention can be varied with respect to different goals. The separation of intermediates and their conversion takes place in known manner instead.
A conventional olefin plant needs a multi-stage Compressor plant to the cracking products on the for the subsequent Division into individual fractions of hydrocarbons with bring different pressure required C-atoms. A Such compressor system is very expensive and makes a considerable Part of the investment costs of the entire plant. By the Addition according to the invention of a conventional olefin plant to a High pressure crackers for isobutane results in this regard - in terms of plant capacity - significant savings. The one for the High pressure cracker required pressure can namely in a simple manner be generated by means of pumps in the supply of isobutane, and by The cracking gaseous cracking products are from already at a relatively high pressure level, which is responsible for the subsequent separation must be raised at most a little more.
Es zeigt The invention will be described in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 1-3. It shows
Fig. 1 die Ausbeute an verschiedenen Olefinen in Abhängigkeit von der Konversionsrate und dem Druck beim Cracken, Fig. 1 shows the yield of various olefins, depending on the conversion rate and the pressure in the cracking,
Fig. 2 and 3 variants of a flow scheme of an olefin plant according to the invention.
By appropriate investigations, the results of which are shown in Fig. 1, it has been shown that with increasing pressure in the cracking of isobutane, the yields of ethylene and propylene fall and the yield of isobutylene increases. Even more significant is the dependence of the yields on the conversion rate (essentially determined by temperature and residence time) in the isobutane cracker. As the conversion rate increases, the yield of isobutylene decreases while the yield of ethylene increases. The yield of propylene remains almost constant over wide ranges, but drops steeply at conversion rates over 80%. These findings make use of the invention to substantially increase the flexibility of an olefin plant by the measures described below.
The flow chart of an olefin plant according to the invention shown in FIG. 2 shows above the dot-dash line the parts known from the prior art of a conventional ethylene plant. A mass flow F1, the z. B. from naphtha, gas oil, liquid gas and / or ethane can be performed in a thermal cracking CR1 (cracking) and in the presence of water vapor (feed is not shown), for example, at temperatures of about 850 to 880 ° C and a pressure of cracked about 3 bar. The hot cracking products pass to heat recovery in a heat exchanger HR1 and in a quench device, not shown, and are then decomposed in a primary fractionation unit PF into liquid and gaseous components. Depending on the feedstock, the liquid fractions are pyrolysis gasoline PYB and gas oil GO, which are discharged as products to the outside. The remaining cracked gaseous hydrocarbons then pass into a compressor which is designed to be multistage and which compresses the gaseous hydrocarbons so high (eg 30 to 40 bar) as for the subsequent separation of fractions having two, three, four or five fractions and more C atoms is appropriate. In the present case, the compressor consists of the plant components COMP1 and COMP2. Between these two parts takes place in a device AGR a separation of sour gas SG (essentially CO₂), which is discharged from the process. Behind the compressor stage COMP2 is obtained a compressed gas and a liquid fraction C 3+ of hydrocarbons having three or more carbon atoms. Thereafter, the compressed gas is freed of water in a dehydration unit DH and brought to a cooler LTC to lower temperatures (eg., About -95 ° C). In the subsequent separation device DM (demethanizer), the hydrocarbons having two or more carbon atoms (C 2+ ) separated from a top gas consisting essentially of methane and hydrogen and, for example, in a pressure swing absorption system PSA into a hydrogen stream H₂ and a gas stream FG can be further divided. The recovered hydrogen can advantageously be used within the scope of the present process for the HYD1-HYD3 hydrogenation units to be described below.
The separated liquid hydrocarbons having two or more carbon atoms then pass into a separator DE (deethanizer) for the division into hydrocarbons C 3+ with three or more carbon atoms, which are continued to a separator DP1 (first depropanizer), and in liquid hydrocarbons C 2+ two carbon atoms. From the latter portion, after passing through a first selective hydrogenation device HYD1 in an ethylene separation unit ETS, the product ethylene ET is obtained; the remainder C₂ (ethane) is recycled to the cracking device CR1, but could also be led out of the process, as indicated by the dashed arrow.
The liquid hydrocarbons C 3+ obtained behind the compressor stage COMP 2 are split into two fractions together with the stream C 3+ obtained in the separator DE in the first depropanizer DP 1. The first fraction consists of the three carbon atoms containing hydrocarbons. It is selectively hydrogenated in a subsequent second hydrogenation device HYD2 and then divided in a separator PPS in the products propylene PPY and propane PRP. The second fraction, which contains the heavier hydrocarbons having four or more carbon atoms, enters a separator DB1 (first debutanizer) containing the four carbon atoms (C₄ fraction) hydrocarbons from the others with five or more carbon atoms (Light oil C 5+ ) separated. The C₄ fraction is then freed in a butadiene extraction BTDE of butadiene C 4 = . The remaining C₄ fraction can be further processed, for example, in a first device MTBE1 with supplied methanol MTNL to Methyltertiärbutylether as a salable end product. The unconverted portion of the C₄ fraction can also be discharged as a final product or recycled as a feed to the process input. Of course, instead of the device MTB1, it would also be possible to provide, for example, a separating device for isobutylene or a device for producing another product from the proportion of isobutylene present.
The part of the method described so far corresponds to the known Prior art olefin plant. The circuit of the individual Separating devices, d. h., the order of separation of each Fractions can also be modified without further ado. This is for the second method string described below, which is the Essence of the present invention, only of minor Meaning.
The second process strand, the optically by a dot-dash line Line is separated from the conventional process strand, one of the second cracking device CR1 completely independently operated second (parallel) Cracker CR2. This will not work with any Hydrocarbons fed (F2), but with one rich in isobutane Gas stream, preferably pure isobutane IB, for example, directly (shown in dashed lines) can be supplied from the outside. Optional can this second cracking device CR2 also a ISO isomerization unit for the production of isobutane from an im essentially consisting of n-butane mass flow NB (for example with Propane mixed) upstream. When using essentially As shown, n-butane can be a single supply for the Feedstock are provided, which then become the two Branched process lines out.
In contrast to the cracking device CR1, the cracking device CR2 not only works with a special feedstock F2, but also under other process conditions. The cracking temperature is much lower and the working pressure significantly higher. Particularly suitable values for the cracking of isobutane are 720-800 ° C and about 20 bar. In addition, the residence time of the feed in the cracker CR2 is specifically set to the different type of material in order to vary the conversion rate in the Fig. 1 apparent for the process management significant "adjustment range". Since the isobutane fed to the cracking device CR2 is liquid, the desired higher pressure can be generated with minimal investment (pumping).
Behind the cracking device CR2, in turn, a heat recovery device HR2 is arranged. The cooled cracking products then pass into a separating device ABS which preferably operates as an absorber. The absorption medium is light oil. Preferably, therefore, a corresponding line connection for pre-accession of a part of the generated in the "conventional" process strand C 5+ fraction is provided. The separator ABS separates, since the cracking products are at a suitably high pressure, in the case shown the hydrocarbons (C 2- ) containing up to two C atoms of the higher hydrocarbons. The former are combined with the cracking products from the first cracking device CR1 and further processed with these. For this purpose, a pipe from the separator ABS preferably leads into the sour gas separation AGR, ie to a point (behind the first compressor stage COMP1) at which the crack products of the cracking device CR1 are already at a correspondingly higher pressure level.
The remaining, comprising substantially higher hydrocarbons mass flow C 3+ from the separator ABS is fed into another separator DB2 (second debutanizer), which causes a separation of the five and more C atoms containing hydrocarbons. These latter hydrocarbons (C 5+ ) are combined with the corresponding fraction from the conventional process strand. The remaining mass flow is passed from the separator DB2 in a downstream HYD2 second hydrogenation and essentially comprises only the three and four C atoms containing hydrocarbons. After successful selective hydrogenation in a third hydrogenation HYD3 this mass flow in a separator DP2 (second depropanizer) in a partial stream C₃ of hydrocarbons having three carbon atoms (propylene content eg 92 wt .-%) and a partial stream C₄ of hydrocarbons four C atoms (isobutylene share, for example 23 wt .-%) further divided. The partial stream C₃ represents raw Popylen which are delivered as final product RPPY in this form (shown in phantom) or can be further refined by it is advantageously passed through a pipeline in the separator PPS, which already has the corresponding fraction from the first cracking device CR1 divides into the (pure) end products propylene PPY and propane PRP.
Conveniently, the separated in the separator DP2 partial stream C₄ is subjected to a purification to separate the valuable isobutylene and / or produce from the isobutylene high-quality products such as methyl tert-butyl ether. In the case shown, it is provided to give this partial flow C₄ in a second plant MTBE2 for the production of methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), which is supplied for this purpose from the outside of a stream methanol MTNL. The generated MTBE is a salable end product. However, it can, as shown in Fig. 1, wholly or partially introduced into a cracking MCR and decomposed into the components pure isobutylene IBTY and methanol MTNL, the latter being recycled after passing through a purification stage PUR in the second MTBE plant. The isobutane IB not consumed in the second MTBE plant is returned to the CR2 cracker.
Der weitere Verfahrensweg entspricht dem der Fig. 2.The flow chart of FIG. 2 represents a particularly expedient embodiment of the invention. FIG. 3 shows a similar overall plant, with the "conventional" olefin plant part completely matching that of FIG. 2. A bypass line BYP is provided here in the inlet area of the second process line, so that a portion of the supplied n-butane can be conducted past the isomerization device ISO in order to be able to further change the composition of the final products to be produced. Another difference is that instead of the separator ABS a second depropanizer DP2 is provided which separates a fraction C 3- with the up to three C-atoms containing hydrocarbons from the four and more containing (C 4+ ). Similar to the C 2 fraction in FIG. 2, the C 3 - fraction is conducted into the sour gas separation AGR and further processed accordingly. The C 4+ fraction is again separated from the light oil component C 5+ in the debutanizer DB2, so that the downstream third hydrogenation device HYD 3 selectively hydrogenates only one C 4 fraction. The further process path corresponds to that of FIG. 2.
By the inventively provided separate cracking treatment of in two different mass flows total supplied to the system Feedstock and the different process conditions of respective cracking treatment and the then taking place at least partially common further processing is a previously not possible Degree of freedom achieved in the operation of the entire system. The proportions The desired end products can be in a wide range be moved against each other. For example, the generated Amount of isobutylene alone by changing the Conversion rate and / or the operating pressure at the second Crackeinrichtung CR2 be significantly affected. By an increase the pressure and a reduction of the conversion rate results more Isobutylene and less ethylene. This is a flexibility in the Production has become possible, as previously desired, but not could be achieved. The required equipment is required comparatively low, especially since the second cracking device does not have its own Compressor needed. With regard to regulatory and Process engineering, the inventive method is simple and reliable. Namely, the conventional plant part can generally be run under constant operating conditions while the Adaptation to different proportions of each desired End products preferably via the variation of the conversion rate in High pressure cracker CR2 can be achieved. The realizable Variation of the proportions of the mainly desired End products may be given in the order of magnitude approximately as follows (based on the mass of the feedstock):
This becomes clear in detail in the following exemplary embodiments.
Tables 1 and 2 summarize the application rates of the various cracking products obtained under different operating conditions when using in each case the same total amount of starting materials. In Table 1, naphtha was always selected as the feedstock for the conventional cracker, and isobutane was always chosen for the high pressure cracker, while in Table 2, n-butane was used for the conventional cracker. The total amount was 100 t in all cases. The conventional cracker was operated under constant conditions (about 3 bar) in all experiments except for the changes in the input quantities given in the tables, while the high-pressure cracker (about 20 bar) operated at two different conversion rates (40 and 80%). In all cases, the amounts of ethane and butane produced were recycled back to the cracking furnaces as feed. The MTBE produced as an intermediate in accordance with FIGS. 2 and 3 was always processed in its entirety in a corresponding cracker to form pure isobutylene.
Compared to the comparative experiments 1 and 2 according to the previous state of Technique shows the experiments 3 and 4 clearly that in particular the Significantly increase the amounts of isobutylene and propylene, without (compared to experiment 2) in any way the composition of To change feedstock.
Experiments 5, 6 and 7 in Table 2 are again comparative experiments, obtained using only a conventional cracker, the with three different compositions of the feedstock was operated. In comparison, the experiments show 8 and 9, at which the isobutane according to the invention by a high pressure cracker was treated that without changing the feed, in particular the Isobutylene content can be varied considerably.
