Abstract

Installed in an opening in a flat roof are two spaced apart glass window panes (4,5) and immediately below the bottom pane (5) is a stretched metal mesh layer (2). The metal mesh is secured by a peripheral frame (3) matching the size of the glazing. The edges of the metal mesh are gripped by the frame so that it is held in tension as close as possible to the bottom pane, being secured to the edges of the bottom pane. The frame can be secured adhesively and forms a unit with the bottom pane. USE/ADVANTAGE - The whole forms a safe, easily installed glazing unit, particularly in sealed unit.

Description

The invention relates to safety roof glazing with a sheet of glass that is essentially horizontal or runs at an angle to the horizontal and through a metal wire mesh against falling in the case heat exposure is ensured.

Such roof glazing is widely used. In the As a rule, such roof glazing consists of one pane glazing. This has turned on in the disc melted metal wire mesh the task in case of fire to prevent parts of the glazing from going through Jump heat, shards on the under the Glass roofed people fall down.

It has been shown that wire glass as an inner glass pane an insulating glass unit is not practical. By solar radiation is generated in the wire glass pane Thermal stresses that lead to jumps and thus to loading hitting the glass panes or to blind the insulation guide glass unit.

The object of the present invention is therefore a Safety glazing for roofs of the above To create kind that is inexpensive to manufacture that permanent transparency of insulating glass panes guaranteed and the the security requirements enough.

This object is achieved in that the metal wire mesh towards the on the glass disc acting gravity below the glass disc runs essentially plane-parallel to this.

This roof glazing has the advantage of being ordinary Insulating glass can be used and also in the event of a fire it is ensured that cracked glass is not falls on people who are below it. According to a particular embodiment of the invention the metal wire mesh immediately adjacent to the glass disc arranged so that it is hardly noticeable and in this respect also not in its appearance differs significantly from a wire glass pane.

Further details of the invention emerge from the following detailed description and the beige added drawing in which an embodiment of the Er example is illustrated.

The drawing shows a cross section through a safety glazing in schematic representation.

The safety glazing consists essentially of an insulating glass unit 1 , to which a metal wire mesh 2 runs plane-parallel, which is clamped in a frame 3 .

The insulating glass unit consists of an outer glass pane 4 and an inner glass pane 5 , which enclose a heat-insulating interior 7 via a circumferential sealing frame 6 .

The metal wire mesh 2 preferably consists of corrosion-resistant steel wire, which runs plane-parallel to the inner glass pane 5 . The metal wire mesh 2 is arranged immediately adjacent to and below the inner glass pane 5 . The glass pane 5 can rest on the metal wire mesh 2 . The metal wire mesh 2 is held in the frame 3 , the dimensions of which essentially correspond to those of the insulating glass unit 1 .

The frame 3 is fastened to the inner glass pane 5 in the region of its edges 8 , 9 . The frame 3 can be glued to the inner glass pane 5 and form with it a prefabricated unit intended for installation.

This safety glazing can be inserted as a prefabricated element in the normal glass rebate. This also allows smoke extraction openings to be implemented, since the safety of the glazing is always ensured by the metal wire mesh 2 adjacent to the inner glass pane 5 . In the safety glazing, the previously observed problem does not occur that falling glass parts clog the smoke outlet opening because the metal wire mesh 2 is moved together with the insulating glass unit 1 of a smoke outlet opening. In the former smoke extraction openings, a metal wire mesh was arranged at a greater distance below the roof glazing and was not moved together with the smoke extraction flap.
