Description

Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Kaltglasur auf Baustoffen, wie Beton, Sandstein, Ton, Mauerwerk u. dgl.Process for the production of a cold glaze on building materials such as concrete, Sandstone, clay, masonry, etc.

Addition to patent 298378. Patent a98378 protects a process for producing a cold glaze on building materials such as concrete, sandstone, clay, masonry and the like by applying a glaze mass consisting of finely distributed, bindable substances. The process consists in adding to the mass a small amount of bituminous masses which have been oxidized in the presence of alkalis and are free of volatile oils. It is known that substances which correspond to this additive have been used for a long time in construction engineering to make mortar, concrete and the like waterproof and to prevent salt-like compounds from exuding on the surface.

It has now been shown that the same property, when added to a cold glaze mass consisting of a cement or the like dispersed in water, the glaze, without the glaze, as in an older process, the finished glaze Building materials must be stored quickly and moist until the glaze solidifies appear perfectly, except for those treated in the manner indicated bituminous masses also belong to all other water-repellent substances, «-elche by adding to the ground water for the purpose of waterproofing concrete and masonry to serve. The advance over the main patent is that you do not have to a certain addition is limited, but a wider range of substances available, of which one can prefer those according to the market situation appear most appropriate and inexpensive.

Such masses used to seal off the water split into two Groups. The first group consists of substances that are insoluble in water and due to their fine distribution in the mortar or concrete, this property applies to the whole Transfer mass. This group includes essentially bituminous, waxy or resinous ones Bodies and the like. The second group consists of masses that only exist in connection with Lime, magnesia or the like either immediately or in the drying process into water-insoluble ones Skip connections. These bodies mostly have a soap-like character. So are z. B. known for this purpose: ammoniacal zinc solutions and soap or alkaline or ammoniacal solutions of the hydroxides of copper, lead, tin, chromium, Aluminum, etc. or pulpy: leave, which can be obtained by reacting basic oleic acid Lime obtained with aluminum sulfate solutions. These masses owe their effect to the Formation of impermeable to water Metal soaps exactly like in In the presence of alkalis oxidized, volatile oil free bitumen or other Wax-like or resin-like substances on which the glass door material is applied immediately forming glaze have a lasting effect and dull or disappear prevent the same during setting, drying and hardening.

Bare fat emulsions, these are liquids in which the fat as such is contained unchanged and is only finely distributed, are also on able to waterproof cement, mortar or the like, however, appear for not suitable for this purpose as it is used at ordinary or slightly elevated temperatures are either liquid or very soft and therefore do not harden sufficiently of the cement. This would also apply to the addition of mere fat emulsions to the glaze mass received a glaze that is too soft and therefore mechanical influences would not be very resistant to it. Such a glaze would be because of her short service life compared to glazed ceramic products produced by firing uncompetitive and therefore practically unusable.
