Production of filter sheets from granular material in centrifuges.
When separating difficult-to-filter masses in the centrifuge, it shows up after a short time
Lighting duration, often after the first filling, that the inserted filter
become clogged and completely impermeable. It does not matter whether the filter is off
Wire meshes laid one on top of the other, made of filter cloth, felt, fired porous filter plates
o. The like. Consistent filters. The finely divided residue of the hard
Filterable material gradually becomes so tight into the pores of the respective filter
pressed in so that the filters become impermeable and require renewal.
But since the renewal # of the connected filter surfaces in the large centrifuges
is associated with considerable difficulty, requires a long investment of time
and the cost of filters is significant, so will the use of slings for
many types of filtrations thereby completely impossible.
In
To counter these disadvantages, it has already been proposed to
Protects the filter cloths, wire mesh, asbestos cloths or other types of contiguous
Filter surfaces in spinning into this before the actual filter material is filled
is to apply a protective layer of granular material, such as coke, crushed
Pebbles, glass powder, pieces of pumice stone, sand or the like, the grain size of which is appropriate for the purpose
is selected and can be different in different layers or layers. In
the rule
a layer thickness of 10 to 30 mm is sufficient.
versehen. The filter layer is now produced in accordance with the invention
by introducing the filter material into the centrifuge as follows: The granular
Material, e.g. B. sand is poured into a tin can provided with a handle. the
Tin can has a slot for filling and emptying (Fig. I). As soon as the slingshot
has reached the required number of revolutions, the filling can, slot upwards, like
Fig.2 shows inserted into the slingshot. The box has a shoulder (e.g. sheet metal ring),
so that they are not pushed further than just in front of the drum wall when filling
can be to prevent contact with the rotating drum wall. As soon
the can is inserted up to the base, you turn it slowly so that you
The content falls into the centrifuge and is evenly distributed due to its high number of revolutions
will. If the tin can is empty, you fill it up again and repeat the process
Introduce the filter material until you have the desired layer thickness of the filter
has reached. In order not to lose any time with the filling, one keeps to practical
as many filled filling cans in stock as to achieve the desired layer thickness
are necessary. If you choose substances made of granular material for the filter, which through
their physical properties do not easily slip out of the cans by themselves,
so you can still use a hand-operated stirrer or a screw to move the cans
Mistake.
When working with the filter described, it was also found that
that it is not only used as protection for the filters of others inserted in the centrifuge
Kind of like wire netting, cloth etc., can be used, but that under certain circumstances
these become completely dispensable. You can see the filter materials in the
Way with the complete omission of the wire nets etc. on the bare drum wall
the spin-on.
