bisher in Muffelöfen vorgenommen.
Method of glowing the lithopone in the manufacture of lithopone
the dried so-called -Rohlithopon is annealed, d. H. to a certain temperature,
about dark red heat, heated, and then quenched in water. That glow was
previously made in muffle furnaces. Here, however, the sensitivity of the mass
the temperature reached at the end cannot be adequately taken into account.
If the final temperature is unsuitable, z. B. the opacity of the product is great.
The heat obtained in such ovens will, of course, vary considerably. A difference
from about 2o to 5o ° already has a great influence on the properties of the
Product as color.
It has now been found that this disadvantage is eliminated
can that, man. carries out the heating in a way that a certain final temperature
allowed to reach. This ensures the most favorable properties of the Lithopone,
like the highest possible opacity, etc., is achieved.
Zweck in keiner Weise.
The muffle furnace previously used for this heating corresponded to this
Purpose in no way. Even frequent turning does not prevent games
those on the floor or on the walls and. lying in the corners, different temperatures
preserved as such on the surface and in the center. An appropriate one
Type of heating in which the mass and the heating gas mechanically move against each other
and thereby certain uniform final temperatures can be achieved, as found
can be achieved in my oven with specially designed internal heating. Around
this internal heating, where the main conditions are uniform heat, if possible
oxygen-free combustion gases and freedom from dust must be achieved to enable
is z. B. a preheating chamber exposed with stone grids is installed in front of the furnace,
in which the necessary amount of generator or water gas with just enough
Amount of air is burned. Which did not heat up much above the temperature of the goods
Combustion gases enter a brick-lined, sloping one with a little excess pressure
Rotary tube and ensure the most even heating of the counter-current trickling
Raw mass, which is then introduced into the quenching water through a pipe immersed in a water seal
falls. A furnace constructed in this way also offers the special technical advantage
the raw color is not dried, but moist, as it comes out of the press, in
the furnace to be able to introduce.
