Abstract

The invention concerns a damping fluid for use preferably in hydraulic door-closing and vibration-damping devices. The fluid is biodegradable and hence not harmful to the environment.

Description

The invention relates to a damping medium as ever mainly in door closers or vibration dampers for Vehicles is used. In both cases is in one closed housing a damping medium available, wel ches affect the closing speed of the door flows on the other hand through the unevenness of the road caused vibrations and thus the above body located almost in a rest position. The damping device is mainly exposed a piston-cylinder unit with overcurrent and bypass Channels together. Is inside the cylinder a damping medium, which today mainly consists of an oil consists. There are very special requirements for oil today opposed. It may, for. B. no corrosion on the surrounding the materials occur and it has to be the oil in a very wide temperature range from approx. -40 ° C to + 60 ° C Maintain viscosity.

To meet the demands, mine today ralöle used or synthetic oils. These oils are in handling and for the operation of a door closer or vibration damper to handle without major problems ben. However, these oils pose a threat to the environment at the moment when the door closer or the vibration damper is no longer needed and ent must be taken care of. That inside the door closer or Oil in the vibration damper is not biological degraded and it can z. B. contamination or Pollution of the drinking water can be caused.

In the trade magazine "Die Bauwirtschaft" Issue 34, from 1958 on page 758 is a door closer wrote that is filled with a chemical substance.

Japanese patent specification 1-51 488 A describes glycols, which are used as damping medium. Furthermore in the book by Dieter Klarmann, "Lubricants and ver applied products "from 1982 on pages 50 to 52 synthetic lubricants described.

The object of the invention is to provide a damping medium find which is based on native oils, which are non-toxic and biodegradable, whereby each but a certain viscosity and sufficient Lubrication behavior must be present.

The object is achieved in that as Damping medium, of course, use biodegradable oils be det. These oils can also be used with polyhydric alcohol len (= glycols) and / or glycol ethers as well as polyglycols and polyglycol ethers are mixed to give the physi to influence the data of the damping medium. These Influences lie in particular in the change of Freezing point, viscosity, density, boiling point point and the lubricating effect. The by the modification ester oils that are produced from natural oils can also be used with success. These ester oils ent stand in that z. B. with a natural fatty acid a mono- or polyhydric alcohol under pressure, heat and / or addition of catalysts to chemical residues reaction. All organic sub punch out the main elements carbon, water substance, oxygen and nitrogen are formed, reason additionally biodegradable. This breakdown of organic Substances usually take place through decomposition with Mi microorganisms. These microorganisms are usually  Bacteria, yeasts, fungi and all types of single cells. However is the degradability of all substances usually in one highly dependent on external factors. These factors the duration of the dismantling is a prerequisite for the life of microorganisms and climatic requirement tongues.

Nimmt man z. It is of particular importance that the natural Liche oil has a corresponding oxidation behavior, d. H. it must either be non-drying or slightly dry natural oil. This is important so that the oil does not turn on after a certain period of use starts to gum up. If you take z. B. rapeseed oil, which from Na is semi-drying, it has to go through a certain Refining or treatment with a catalyst and Pressure and heating are treated so that it is not a gets drying behavior. This treatment may have to can also be done with other natural oils. Another crucial aspect is the star point. Because the damping media even at sub-zero temperatures must be used, it is important that the Freezing point of the natural oil if possible is far below 0 ° C. Because of these two basic requirements Settlement is the spectrum of the natural oils have been reduced enormously. Nevertheless but there are natural oils that require these two meet tongues. In particular, these are sunflower oil, Almond oil, rapeseed oil, grape seed oil, wheat germ oil, avocado oil, Peach kernel oil, claw oil and especially castor oil. Around however, good damping behavior of the damping medium to achieve, it is also possible to achieve the aforementioned na to mix door oils.

It can also affect the physical behavior of the oils be changed to them in a certain percentage polyhydric alcohols, glycols or glycol ethers added  will. Polypropylene glycol, Po are particularly suitable here low molecular weight polyethylene glycol, propane diol, butanediol, polyethylene glycol dimethyl ether, butyldi glycol and butyl glycol.

However, since some of the aforementioned substances or Ge mix a certain aggressive from several substances Corrosion behavior towards the surrounding materia lien, it is usually necessary to have an inhibitor add, which reduces the corrosion behavior. As Phosphates and basic ones are particularly suitable here Highlighted nitrogen compounds. By mixing of different substances, natural oils among themselves or with the aforementioned alcohols, glycols or glycol ether, the viscosity of the damping medium be put. Should that be the case with natural oils Lubrication behavior may not be sufficient, so can natural waxes are added here.

A Ge has proven to be a particularly good damping medium mix of butyl diglycol with a percentage up to 60% Castor oil proven.
