Description

Filter with a porous body made up of glass particles sintered together consists. The subject of the present invention is a filter that because of its high resistance to acids and corrosive liquids and because of its other properties both for scientific chemical work as is also well suited for technical purposes. The filter according to the invention consists of a porous body already proposed per se for filter purposes of glass particles sintered together, which according to the invention is placed in a container made of non-porous glass is melted down. It has been shown that such a merger succeeds well and reliably, using such porous and non-porous ones expediently Glass bodies fused together that have the same coefficients of thermal expansion. By melting the actual filter body into the container, each Gap between the filter body and container avoided, so that the filter effect alone is caused by the selected size of the glass grains sintered together. as well every putty that always forms an unpleasant foreign body becomes at the connection point the porous body and the container avoided. The smooth glass wall of the container also prevents a 'to be filtered or a filtered one from climbing up Liquid on the container wall, what in particular. an advantage with quantitative ones chemical work is permitted, and the glass container if made transparent will effortlessly observe the progress of the work.

In the drawing is an embodiment of one corresponding to the invention Filters shown in a cross section in which the container has a funnel shape. The filter here consists of a glass vessel a into which a porous plate is melted which is composed of two superimposed parts b1 and b2. The two parts b1 and b2 are also fused together. Both are, to make temperature influences harmless and a good melting on the vessel a to allow from glass powder of the same coefficient of thermal expansion as it having glass used for the vessel a, namely the upper part of a coarser powder than the lower one. To stiffen the plate b1, b2 is also A grid c made of non-porous glass is melted into the lower part b2.
