Mund und Nase abschließende Halbmaske. Die Erfindung betrifft sogenannte
Halbmasken, die nur Mund und Nase des Benutzers bedecken, und besteht in einer neuartigen
Ausbildung des Dichtungsrahmens solcher Masken. Bisher wurde der sich dem Gesicht
anschmiegende Rahmen so ausgeführt, daß er mit dem Außenrande der Maske abschließt.
Am Maskenrande ist der Rahmen umgelegt, so daß sein Rand verdickt und verhältnismäßig
steif ist. Außerdem dichtet der Rahmen, der vom Maskenrande in die Maske hineingeht,
nur dann, wenn die Maske gegen das Gesicht des Gebrauchers gepreßt wird. Würde dagegen
der Maskenrand etwas gelüftet, was durch zufällige Berührung, heftige Kopfbewegungen,
stoßweises Atmen u. dgl. eintreten könnte, so wäre die Dichtung stellenweise gestört.Final half mask for mouth and nose. The invention relates to so-called

Nach der Erfindung wird die Dichtungswirkung derartiger Gasschutzhalbmasken
mit der Gesichtsform angepaßtem Rahmen dadurch verbessert, daß der Maskenrand etwa
längs der Halbierungslinie eines aus weichem, vorzugsweise dehnbarem Stoff bestehenden
breiten Dichtrahmens mit diesem verbunden wird, wobei die Zugbänder der Maske an
der Verbindungsnaht angreifen. Der Dichtrahmen tritt also nicht allein in das Maskeninnere
hinein, sondern ragt auch über die Verbindungsnaht hinaus. Die unnachgiebige Nahtlinie
wirkt dann gewissermaßen als Achse, um die sich der Rahmenstoff dreht. Hebt sich
z. B. der innerhalb der Maske liegende Teil des Dichtrahmens aus irgendeiner Ursache
etwas an, so bewegt sich der über die Maske vorstehende Rahmenteil in entsprechendem
Maße wie ein Hebel um die Nahtlinie als Drehachse nach dem Gesicht zu und umgekehrt.
Eine Lockerung der Dichtung der einen Rahmenhälfte gleicht sich so bei einiger Steifigkeit
des Rahmenstoffes durch eine verstärkte Dichtung der anderen Hälfte selbsttätig
aus, so daß auf diese Weise die Zuverlässigkeit der Abdichtung des Rahmens gesteigert
wird, um so mehr, als sich der vorstehende Rahmenteil den Gesichtsschmiegungen,
insbesondere

Maske mit einer Bandschleife 7 verbunden ist, die in der Nähe des Randes mit der
