Kolorimeter.
Colorimeter. The invention relates to an apparatus for measuring
Colours. One common type of colorimeter consists of a comparison wedge,
where a trough with the liquid to be measured can be moved past. Of the
The disturbing space between the wedge and the trough is created with the help of a prism system for the
Made invisible to the eye. The novelty of the invention is that in these
Kolorimetem no longer has the wedge the comparison color, but one half
of the prism system consists of a colored body, which is used as a benchmark
serves. Instead of a colored body, a
The cuvette is used for colored solutions or gases. In the case of the known colorimeters
also found annoying that stop. Bare wedges made of colored glass or wedges
which are composed of mirror glass plates and filled with a durable comparison solution
could not be manufactured in such a way that they could be compared with the ones under investigation
Color solutions match in all parts with regard to the color tone. These color wedges
because of the significantly smaller layer thickness at the tip they have a different one
Color absorbency than at the thicker end of the wedge. With the new colorimeter '
the comparison color remains the same in terms of color intensity once and for all.
It is also irrelevant for the measurement how dense the color solution to be examined is
is colored and whether it is at the tip of the wedge receiving it for examination
or at its thicker part. The prism system will be parallel to
moved the wedge until colors match between the wedge point in question and
the color of one half of the prism is achieved. The position of the prism system in relation to the wedge
can be read on a scale.
The drawing illustrates the scheme of a colorimeter in use
a Helmholtz double plate as a prism system, namely in Fig. i the position
of the double plate in front of the wedge, in Fig. a the position of the double plate
seen from the side in front of the wedge.

Formation of the prism system drawn, namely in Fig. 3 one half of the
Prism system consisting of a color plate, in Fig. Q. one half of the price system

Instead of the Helmholtz double plate, any other can also use the
Prism combination fulfilling the same purpose, for example one according to Fresnel,
can be used and according to the embodiments according to Figs. 3 to 5

- in this case a red color, which is associated with the blood pigment, or a brown one
Color identical to the color of the hydrochloric acid hematin.
