Description
Device for recording sounds by electromagnetic means. The invention relates to a device in which sounds are converted into electrical currents converted and these currents, after amplification, fed to a phonetic recorder "-earth, and aims at a distortion-free reproduction of the recorded sounds by the Playback device.
For this purpose, the vibrating part of the receiving organ (detector) or the phonetic recorder made resonance-free, (i.e. it is set up in this way, riaß he neither has an elastic intrinsic tone in the relevant frequency range still, considered as a whole, has a pendulum oscillation against its suspension. Since naturally not natural tones and natural oscillation in the practical implementation are to be completely avoided, according to the invention, the inherent sound is transmitted through the listening area, the natural oscillation moved under the listening area.
The resonance-free detector or phonetic recorder can be called a squat Mass to be executed. The use of such masses is known and has been avoided but they because of their insensitivity. The invention is based on the knowledge Great for the good amplification options, especially the cathode tubes that insensitivity is no longer a disadvantage.
In the case of the detector, the purpose of the invention can not only be through a compact, so really "in the audible range of own tones achieve free mass, but according to the invention also by a detector which, although not free of inherent tones in the The audible range is, which does not convert these acoustic tones into electrical oscillations can implement. According to the invention, such a detector is represented by a very flat, hit in their entire width by the sound waves to be recorded. suspended in a magnetic field that is as homogeneous as possible, as free from restoring forces as possible Flat coil (egg cake coil). According to the invention, a resonance-free phonetic recorder is used a compactly built, equipped with negligible restoring force, in one Strong magnetic field oscillating coil similar to that of a moving coil ammeter.
The resonance-free detectors and phonetic recorders have the valuable ones Ability to distinguish none of the tones in the listening area from the other. they give but the ratio of the overtones to the fundamental is not correct again: because an ideal, So a detector that behaves like a free mass leads under the effect a periodic force, namely here the sound pressure, vibrations, whose The amplitude is your square of the frequency reversed and its speed is the frequency is inversely proportional.
According to the invention, therefore, the currents are on their way from the detector towards the recipient not only amplified, but also changed in shape in such a way, that those produced by the detector in question and the phonetic recorder to be used Distortions are canceled.
You can go further on this path and not just the peculiarity of the detector and the phonetic recorder, but also that of the later playback device consider. The characteristics of the various detectors, phonetic recorders and Playback apparatus and accordingly also the distortions produced by them are very different. In general, however, there are three basic types of deformation through the composition and recovery of which all practical cases arise. Either «- the overtones are weakened proportionally to their frequency. The periodic The function corresponding to the curve shown is therefore the integral of the function reproducing the original curve. This error is compensated by a device that keeps the overtones of the electrical transmission wave in proportion amplified their frequency, so that the function of the amplified current is the differential represents the function of the unreinforced electricity. This as electrical differentiation Designated change in shape is brought about according to the invention in that one enters the anode circuit of a booster valve has a pure @m ratio to the total impedance of the circuit small inductance switches on and the control voltage for the in the Row next valve decreases. The second distortion that occurs is (measure the overtones are amplified in proportion to their frequency, i.e. a differentiation the curve occurs. According to the invention, this error is compensated for by a capacitor, which takes the place of the inductance mentioned under i and causes the amplified Current the overtones are reduced in relation to their frequency (electrical integration).
The third main defect arises from resonance points in one of the members involved in reproduction. According to the invention, this error is thereby eliminated compensates that the control voltage from a series of condenser, inductance and ohmic resistance is removed, at which K = capacitor and inductance matched are that their resonance is at the same number of vibrations as the one to be combated Resonance, while the ohmic resistance is such that the damping of the electrical Circle is equal to the mechanical damping of the limb which is to be combated Has resonance point. The voltage drop across this electrical 1 resonance circuit is used as control voltage for the next amplifier valve in the series, and this voltage drop becomes smaller the closer the electrical frequency is the resonance point comes, Abis finally only the ohmic one at the resonance point itself Voltage drop remains, and this is just enough, as ei, wähut, to reduce the. To cover damping losses of the mechanical system. The mechanical system can So do not swing up, even if the frequency to be transmitted happens to be Corresponds to the number of resonance vibrations.
The invention is applicable not only to the illustrated mechanical detectors and sound recorder, but it is also suitable f or 'microphone detectors and magnetic sound recorder. Of course, the transmission from the detector to the recorder does not need to be wired, but can also be wireless.

In Fig. I i is the coil of the phonetic recorder into which the detector coming and properly shaped currents amplified by the amplifier set sent. It is attached to a soft iron core 6 so that it can rotate about pin 5, which lies between the poles of an electromagnet 7, which by .ein winding 8 is excited. The coil carries the pen 3 on an arm 2, which is on the roller 4 rests. The average depth of cut can be sent through a coil Direct current can be regulated or by a spring, e.g. B. a weak spiral spring, but which must be so weak that the system does not have any natural oscillation in the audible range confers.
In Fig.2, the sound to be recorded is picked up by a rigid mass 29, which is suspended movably in the opening of a wall 31 on tapes 3o. The coil 32, which vibrates in the annular gap between the poles 33 and 34 of an electromagnet, takes part in the vibrations of the mass. The EMF generated in the coil = are fed through the lines 35 and 36 to the grid 39 of an amplifier tube which, in the usual manner, contains glow wire 3: 8, grid 39 and anode 4o and in whose anode circuit the induction coil 41 is located. In the actual implementation, a cascade of six tubes would likely be required in place of the one amplifier tube. The potential differences at the ends of the coil 4i are fed to the grid of a second hot cathode tube 42, in the anode circuit of which the induction 43, which is small with respect to the total impedance of the tube, is located. The potential differences at this inductance - are fed to the grid of the hot cathode tube 44, in the anode circuit of which there is again the induction 45, which is small compared to the total impedance. After having been differentiated twice in inductions 43 and 45, the current now has the correct form to excite a writing instrument working with a resonance-free, compact mass into a scream]) curve which corrects the form of the primary sound wave reproduces; but he is still too weak. Therefore it is sufficiently amplified in both cascade-connected tubes 46 and I7 and only then fed via a transformer 26 to the moving coil i of the phonograph, which oscillates around the axis 13 between the poles of an electromagnet 9 and io and carries the pin 3, who writes on disk 28.
If with such an arrangement the resistance of the wax layer is significant is, so must, because this is proportional to the speed of the pen, to compensate for a fraction of the current that is your first differential of the true corresponds to acoustic potential, taken before further differentiation and after amplification via a transformer of the coil i.
Fig. 3 shows a detector according to the invention. In the wide annular gap between the poles of an electromagnet 33 and 34, the flat coil 48 is held by a tissue paper or rubber membrane 49. If the coil has to supply stronger currents, its self-induction can be compensated for by a coil So which is fastened on a hard rubber ring 51 provided with holes 52 opposite the coil 29. The membrane is addressed through an opening in the wooden wall 31, against which the outer pole 33 rests with the interposition of a rubber ring 5 2 .
The detection coil 48 picks up the pressure wave of the incident sound and produces an E.M.K. proportional to the displacement wave of that tone. These E. M. K. is fed to ports 35 and 36; it is free of harmonics, which could result from elastic inherent tones of the coil, because these are in the different turns of the coil cancel each other out.
Fig. 4 relates to a phonetic recorder finite natural oscillation in the listening area. The coil 48 of a detector is on the grid circle of an amplifier tube switched, in whose anode circuit the primary coil :: 1d3 of a transformer with Iron core 453 is located, the secondary coil 454 of which the potential fluctuations with or without '@l: scale change on the grid circle of a tube .I44 transfers. In the anode circle This tube is the primary coil of a voltage transformer 457 and in parallel to this a series circuit, consisting of the capacitor .I56, the ohmic one Resistance d55 and the self-induction finite iron core .1d.5. The secondary coil of the transformer .I57 is connected to the grid circuit of the amplifier tube 446 and the "transformer: 1.59" is placed in the anode circuit, which carries the current of the Excitation coil .I58 supplies the phonetic recorder.
The phonetic recorder consists of a permanent magnet 46o with scrolled Poles 461 and a scrolled rod anchor 402 which is shaped to fit on itself is free of inherent tones that are in the range of the tones to be recorded. The anchor is on a rubber plate 46d. hung and is attached by two at its ends Wires .I63 held. The magnet is supported by a hard rubber support 465 which rotatably mounted at 466 on a carriage, not shown, and so balanced is that its own weight does not burden the stylus 3. One spring mounted at 468 Clamp allows the wires, I63 to be retightened, thereby removing the anchor to be regulated by the Poles. The tension that occurs in the wires predominantly determines the number of oscillations of the armature as a whole against the carrier. This natural frequency must be above iooo; their more detailed definition is a matter of experiment. Of the Circle -1d.5, -155, -156 is now tuned so that its resonance number is the same as the natural frequency of the armature; I62, so that with electrical Waves of this frequency are the voltage drop across the capacitor .I56 and across the induction 4.45 cancel each other out and only the voltage drop in the ohmic resistance d.55 remains. However, this is dimensioned in such a way that it only absorbs the loss due to mechanical damping in the phonetic recorder, so (the anchor also ate at its resonance number cannot be aroused into excessive rashes.
If instead of the anchor a membrane or a device according to Fig. 5 to 7 If there were several resonance points in the listening area, one could just as much different electrical parallel circuits, matched to these resonance points to use the transformer 457.
Figs. 5 to 7 show a phonograph in phonograph writing writes on roller 4. It consists of a moving coil i whose axis of rotation is from an elastic wire 69 is formed and which carries the pen 3. The wire 69, which can consist of the ends of the coil wire itself, is via two webs 72 stretched from rubber, guided up through holes in the lever and can by means of of screws 71 tensioned «. Connections lead from the ends 7o of the wire to the mercury bowls 74 and 5 on the back of the lever 65. The lever is in the suspended all over at 66 and balanced at 73.
The device is mounted so that the coil i between the poles 9 and io of a strong electromagnet. The coil will match the shaped telephone streams supplied.
FIG. 8 shows a greatly enlarged cross-section through a coil, the pen 3 of which, carried by the arm 79, writes on a plate 28. The coil lies between poles 8 and 9 of a strong electromagnet in a field of around 15,000 CGS units. To give the coil support, the turns are glued with shellac and the middle part is partially filled with wood or pitch. With an effective length of 400 cm and a maximum current of 1 ampere, the force that acts on the coil is around 3009 on each side.
