Ist die Naht länger als die Vorrichtung, so muß letztere entsprechend verschoben werden, desgleichen ist ein Neuanlegen an jeder Ecke erforderlich. Nach Fertigstellung einer Naht wird die Vorrichtung entfernt, das Zwischenstück herausgezogen (Abb. 3) und mit beiden Händen die Stoffe umgebogen und flachgedrückt, wodurch die vorher lockeren Stiche sich straffen und die Stoffkanten nunmehr stumpf zusammenstoßen (Abb. 4. und 5).The main purpose of the device is to make it easier to mend items of clothing (inserting patches), avoid thick seams and make the repair as invisible as possible.
