Description

Circuit arrangement of the overcurrent protection of lines connected in parallel by means of one or more relays built in the manner of a water relay. Addition to Patent 349753. Patent 349753 protects a protective device which is characterized by Wattrelais, the sum and difference of the currents of the parallel lines to be protected are operated. The relays are at rest when either the sum or the difference of the currents is zero. In normal In operation, the two parallel lines carry the same currents, i. H. their difference is zero. The fact that the relay does not respond then corresponds to that of the protection requirements. But it is also conceivable that the sum of the two Currents-becomes zero. In the event of a short circuit on one line, it flows a fault current is applied to the fault location via both lines, which is transferred to that of the power source distant end of the two lines connected in parallel are of the same size, but has a different sign. That the relay does not respond in this case, is undesirable.

The present invention is an arrangement that this Defect eliminated by the fact that those parts of the relay to which the total current acts, are provided with an additional winding, which is connected to the voltage between two Phases and their power flow through known measures (choke coil or ohmic Resistors) is given a suitable phase position. This winding supports the others and creates a torque in the relay even in those cases where the Total current disappears.
