Description
Sliding support for X-ray purposes. Addition to patent 389727. Patent 389727 describes a reflective layer support for X-ray purposes, in which the layer is cast onto a uniformly white reflective, translucent and X-ray luminescent base made of rigid material. It is envisaged here that this base consists of a homogeneous material, such as glass or celluloid with admixed suitable substances, which are very finely distributed in the material. However, it certainly has advantages for the production and the effect not to embed these substances in the substrate itself, but to apply them as a separate emulsion. The chemical interaction in the immediate vicinity of silver emulsion and light emulsion excludes this process when using glass plates. If, however, a very thin celluloid plate (film) is used as the layer support, the light emulsion can be poured onto the back of the plate, while the front side carries the light-sensitive emulsion. A chemical effect between the two substances is therefore impossible. The very short distance between the two emulsions does not show any disturbing effect of the parallax in the reflecting light, so that in this respect no disadvantage compared to the reflecting X-ray plates made of glass is noticeable.
