Freewheel hub with coaster brake. The invention relates to the known
Freewheel hub with coaster brake with an axial on the thread of the driver
sliding nut when it is moved in one direction, the drive coupling -
by spreading it closes and when it is shifted in the other direction the
Brake sleeve spreads. The invention consists in the fact that the mother consists of two axially
Teeth coupled parts consists of which one for axial displacement
the mother serves, the other one from several, held together by a resilient ring
There are segments that are spread by the thread of the driver and against the
Hub are pressed to form the drive coupling. Carcass spreading the segments
happens either because that which is connected to the drive segments
Thread and the thread of the nut part used for displacement are different
Have slope or
in that the with the drive segments in
Connected thread is conical.
Die Zeichnung stellt in Abb. i und 2 zwei verschiedene Ausführungsformen
des Erfindungsgegenstandes im Längsschnitt dar.The drawing shows in Fig. I and 2 two different embodiments
of the subject matter of the invention in longitudinal section.
an der Achse festgelegten Klemmring i begrenzt. In the arrangement according to Fig. I, the threaded part of the driver b , which protrudes into the impeller hub a, bears a nut consisting of two parts c and d . The two nut parts are non-rotatably connected to one another by coupling claws extending in the axial direction. The nut part c consists of one piece, while the nut part d consists of several segments which are held together by a resilient open wire ring e. The thread part on which the nut part c moves has a different pitch than the thread part used to move the nut part d. Between the two threaded parts of the driver b there is a twisted, thread-free part, which is alternately coated by the nut parts c and d and is designed in this `` '' iron to prevent jamming. The: nut part c also has coupling claws on its end face facing the brake, which can come into contact with the claws of the brake cone f, which is displaceable in the axial direction and under the action of the spring la, and which carries the brake sleeve together with the fixed cone g. The displacement of this cone towards the driver is limited by the clamping ring i fixed on the axis.
Teiles f bereits in Eingriff getreten.
The function of the brake is as follows. When freewheeling, the parts are in the position shown in the drawing. When turning the driver in the forward direction, the two nut parts c and d move together to the right according to the thread of part b (with reference to the drawing). In the process, the segments of part d spread. The coupling claws of part c and of the brake cone f only come out of contact with one another when the segments of part d have already come into slight contact with wheel hub a. After further spreading the segments, the hub a is carried along and thus the impeller is driven. If the drive is interrupted and the driver b is held in such a way that it cannot rotate, the hub a still carries the segments with it by friction, so that the nut parts c and d are shifted to the left. Before the friction between the hub and the segments ceases completely, the coupling claws of part c have already engaged with those of part f. Now that the parts d have come completely out of contact with the hub, there is a smooth freewheel. For the purpose of braking, the driver b is rotated backwards, the nut part c shifts the brake cone f to the left and thereby spreads the brake sleeve, which now comes into contact with the hub a. If the nut part c is moved to the right by stepping forward slightly, the brake is released under the action of the spring h, which moves the brake cone f to the right, so that the brake sleeve is released from the hub. A special frictional inhibition to secure the axial displacement of the mother is not necessary here in a known manner. When freewheeling, the labe rotates completely smoothly on its bearings and when driving, the driving parts are out of contact with stationary parts, so that unnecessary frictional resistance is eliminated, which is also no longer new in itself.
The embodiment of Fig. 2 is the same, except that
the nut part d and the corresponding part of the driver b have a conical thread,
by which when the nut part c is shifted to the right the spreading of the segments
of part d takes place.
