Abstract

A material for packaging of metal objects comprises a combination of a thermoplastic polymer and an active material comprising salicylic acid-octadecylamine salt, and benzoic acid-diethylamine salt to combat corrosion of the metal. The packaging material may be, e.g., in the form of a film, bag, or injection moulded container. The active material combination may be applied to the (inside) surface of the package, formed into a mixt. with the polymer, e.g., prior to injection moulding, or applied to textile fibres located between two films which are bonded together. USE/ADVANTAGE - The packaging provides excellent corrosion protection for metal parts during storage and transport, and unlike prior art paper-based or metal-plastic laminate packaging materials, the present materials can be made transparent.
