4. Masking tape according to claim 3, characterized in that the spacers ( 22 , 42 ) are formed from a profiled network material ( 18 , 20 ; 38 , 40 ; 58 , 60 ) connected to the flat web material.

5. Masking tape according to claim 4, characterized in that the network material ( 18 , 20 ; 38 , 40 ; 58 , 60 ) consists of fabric made of synthetic fibers hardened with phenol resin.

6. Masking tape according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the spacers ( 22 ) are knob-shaped, preferably frustoconical.

7. Masking tape according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the spacers ( 42 ) are rib-shaped as substantially in the longitudinal direction of the masking tape ( 30 ) extending continuous hollow profile strips.

8. Masking tape according to claims 6 and 7, characterized in that on both side edges ( 62 , 64 ) of the masking tape ( 50 ) each have a rib-shaped spacer ( 42 ) formed as a continuous hollow profile bar.

9. Masking tape according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the spacers ( 42 ) are designed as zigzag hollow profile strips.

10. Masking tape according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the spacers ( 22 , 42 ) on two from the side edges of the masking tape ( 10 , 30 , 50 ) outgoing longitudinal strips ( 14 , 16 ; 34 , 36 ; 54 , 56 ) are arranged.

11. Masking tape according to claim 10, characterized in that the masking tape ( 10 , 30 , 50 ) has a width of about 50 cm and the longitudinal strips ( 14 , 16 ; 34 , 36 ; 54 , 56 ) provided with spacers ( 22 , 42 ) each have a width of about 20 cm.

12. Masking tape according to one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that the spacers ( 22 , 42 ) have a height of 5 to 20 mm, preferably of 12 mm.

13. Masking tape according to one of claims 2 to 12, characterized in that the mesh size of the net-shaped material ( 18 , 20 ; 38 , 40 ; 58 , 60 ) is a maximum of 3 mm, preferably about 1 mm.
