Abstract
Description
Waschen von Bekleidungsteilen, Heimtextilien, Teppichen od. dgl. mit den Merkmalen des Oberbegriffs des Patentanspruchs 1.The present invention relates to a method for Cleaning or washing of clothing parts, home textiles, Carpets or the like with the features of the generic term of Claim 1.
Waschmedium. There are basically two different procedures in the area of commercial laundry known to clothing, home textiles, Free carpets or the like from dirt. The two methods differ in that each used cleaning or washing medium.
Chemical cleaning uses organic cleaning agents Solvent used. Here are particular low boiling alkanes (gasolines), chlorinated or to name fluorinated solvents, being perchlorethylene is used primarily.
In the field of commercial laundries is used as a washing medium uses an aqueous solution containing the usual washing aids, such as alkali dispensers, complexing agents and Contains surfactants.
The two methods previously described are either in working discontinuously or continuously Machines carried out. Here, the point continuously machines to be operated a variety of one after the other arranged wash chambers so that the to be cleaned Laundry continuously during the washing process Wash chamber is transported to wash chamber while usually the washing medium that from the previously described aqueous system or the organic solvents exists, in countercurrent to the transported laundry items to be led. The discontinuous machines consist of usually from a single wash chamber, which with one in perforated washing drum to hold the wall Laundry is provided. Here are the laundry items first in the washing or cleaning medium mentioned above treated and then with fresh washing or cleaning medium often rinsed several times.
The known methods described above have one Series of disadvantages. This is how it always works required by aqueous systems that get wet after washing drying existing laundry items. Therefor are usually the laundry parts in a first step mechanically drained and then hanging in one Tunnel finisher dried. Then the dry Laundry items are ironed so that even with one continuously performed washing process several times manual There is work to do. Also requires the evaporation of the in the mechanically pre-dewatered laundry items existing residual water a relatively high expenditure of energy. Furthermore, the specific water consumption relatively high, thus corresponding wastewater problems can occur.
There are other problems with chemical cleaning. So are the chlorinated ones currently preferred Hydrocarbons, especially perchlorethylene, problematic in handling. This in turn means that the amount of perchlorethylene emitted be minimized must, which involves increased mechanical engineering effort, to use the machines and clean them the solvent complies with the legal maximum concentration to guarantee. This can, however not solve the problem that certain laundry items, for example Contain polyester fibers, halogenated solvents bind adsorptively. For example, by Measurements found that polyester-containing textiles a residual concentration after chemical cleaning Perchlorethylene had up to about 2.5 wt .-%.
The present invention is based on the object to provide a procedure of the specified type, through which the soiling from clothing parts, home textiles, Carpets and Like. Without organic Solvents or aqueous systems particularly easy to remove are.
This object is achieved by a method with the characterizing features of claim 1 solved.
In contrast to State of the art above not with a organic solvents or an aqueous system, but instead use a supercritical fluid the pollution contained in the laundry items dissolves and removes. This becomes supercritical under the system Fluid understood such a system in which the pressure and / or the Temperature of the fluid above that characteristic of the respective fluid critical pressure, which is characteristic of the respective fluid critical temperature and / or volume below the critical volume. In other words the supercritical fluid is above the critical point, such a system also called a supercritical gas or liquid in the supercritical state. Here the supercritical fluid has approximately the viscosity of the corresponding gas and a density that is approximately corresponds to the density of the correspondingly liquefied gas.
The method according to the invention has a number of advantages on. So it could be determined that, due to the relatively low viscosity comparable to gases, the mass transfer processes required for the removal of contaminants run relatively quickly while solubility the contaminants in the supercritical fluid by its high, comparable with a corresponding liquid Density is improved. This will in turn causes contamination such as fats, oils, Pigment soiling, starchy soiling and / or carbohydrate contaminants, in the supercritical Fluid particularly quickly and well dissolved and therefore be removed from the parts treated accordingly. There with the laundry parts essential to the method according to the invention treated shorter compared to conventional methods the laundry parts are correspondingly fewer mechanically stressed and so less crumpled, so that often in the method according to the invention ironing the washed or cleaned parts can be omitted. Is too in the method according to the invention drying the Treated parts are not necessary because of expansion of the supercritical fluid for cleaning or washing The fluid used immediately becomes gaseous and changes accordingly evaporates. This in turn leads to the fact that method according to the invention in its total energy balance is much cheaper than conventional methods, those with aqueous systems or organic solvents work. Likewise occur in the method according to the invention no emission problems, as this is usually done with Working fluids is unproblematic in this regard are, as will be explained below. Even at a leak in the for the implementation of the invention Process autoclaves occur when using Perchlorethylene known environmental problems or threats not because the supercritical fluid used immediately in the corresponding gas is converted while the here loosened dirt accumulates as a liquid or solid. Also, they are usually supercritical fluids used compounds or elements odorless, so that by using the method according to the invention Unpleasant smells and emissions cannot be determined.
As has already been explained above, in the case of the invention Processes at temperatures and / or pressures worked above that for the particular system characteristic critical temperature or the critical Pressure. So you work with the invention Process in a temperature range between about 10 ° C and about 240 ° C, preferably between about 32 ° C and about 180 ° C, with the above-mentioned upper temperatures according to the substrate to be cleaned or cleaned straighten the washing part. For example, it is recommended for laundry items made of wool or cotton Temperatures in a range between about 40 ° C and 90 ° C to prevent matting or shrinking during cleaning prevent. Due to the fact that in the inventive Process a drying in the conventional sense of the cleaned Parts are omitted, no noteworthy anyway Shrinking processes. For laundry items that are made of Synthetic fibers, such as polyester fibers or Polyamide fibers, will preferably be a treatment temperature selected between about 60 ° C and about 140 ° C, because here such laundry parts in the confection upstream finishing stage usually through Thermal treatments are dimensionally stabilized. Of course it is also possible to be particularly sensitive Laundry, such as knitted or knitted fabrics, at correspondingly lower temperatures, such as Wash temperatures between about 32 ° C and about 45 ° C or to clean.
Also the one used in the method according to the invention Pressure range depends on the respective fluid. General this pressure range is between about 70 bar and about 400 bar, preferably between about 140 bar and about 250 bar, because in such a pressure range the machine technology Problems with the seals are still very good are manageable.
Basically, all are in the method according to the invention Fluids applicable, which are below the above-mentioned temperature and printing conditions in their supercritical state are transferable. Such fluids are particularly suitable already at low temperatures, i.e. H. Temperatures between about 30 ° C and about 100 ° C, and at relatively low Pressures, for example pressures between about 50 bar and about 200 bar, are in their supercritical state. So could For example, it can be found that carbon monoxide or noble gases are particularly suitable for this, especially since the latter noble gases are also not combustible or are toxic. One could get particularly good results achieve when using supercritical carbon dioxide, that additionally the advantages of a relatively cheap Manufacturing price, an excellent solubility for many types of contamination and low toxicity as well has no flammability. For example, be found to be a variety of different Soiling is particularly good and light at relative low temperatures, d. H. Temperatures in a range between about 32 ° C and about 80 ° C, and relatively low Press, d. H. between about 74 bar and about 160 bar, in had supercritical carbon dioxide removed, like this the examples below also prove. As well it was found that when using supercritical carbon dioxide the colors of the cleaned parts even with repeated use of supercritical carbon dioxide did not change, which is often an undesirable phenomenon in the known methods. Even with leather parts, which by the conventional method very are difficult to clean, occurred in the invention Process that is supercritical as a cleaning medium Carbon dioxide used no problems such as Hardening or color changes.
It goes without saying in the method according to the invention also possible instead of a supercritical fluid use a mixture of different supercritical fluids. For example, it is possible to create a binary, ternary or quaternary fluid mixture, for example from carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, noble gases and / or hydrocarbons and / or water is used.
In a further embodiment of the invention Process is the supercritical fluid or fluid mixture a cleaning booster (washing booster) added. Hereby is achieved that certain contaminants still can be removed better and faster, preferably these cleaning boosters to the respective pollution be coordinated. For example polar cleaning boosters, especially those containing hydroxyl groups Cleaning booster, especially good for removal proven by polar contaminants. Also the addition of about 4% Has water to the supercritical fluid or fluid mixture shown that especially polar contaminations could be removed quickly and gently. Also the Addition of surfactants as cleaning enhancers revealed for certain contaminants improve the cleaning effect of the supercritical fluid or fluid mixture. For this purpose, anionic and / or in particular nonionic are preferably used Surfactants of the structures known per se, such as for example alkylbenzene sulfates, sulfonates, linear Alkyl sulfates, sulfonates, ethoxylated alkylphenols and / or ethoxylated fatty alcohols, each alone or in Mixtures used.
Usually in the method according to the invention aforementioned polar cleaning amplifier in one Concentration between about 2 vol% and about 10 vol% and the surfactant-like cleaning enhancers listed above in a concentration between about 0.1 vol .-% and about 4 vol .-%, each based on the amount of supercritical Fluids or fluid mixtures used. At Cleaning parts that are particularly heavy with polar soiling are dirty, the concentration of the cleaning amplifier mentioned above to a total of about 20 vol .-%, based on the amount of supercritical fluid, increase.
Depending on the particular mode of operation, the fleet ratio can vary in the method according to the invention. Usually this is done in a fleet ratio between 1: 5 to 1:50, preferably about 1:10 to about 1:30 worked, because of the excellent solvency the supercritical fluid has shorter liquor ratios, for example between about 1: 5 to about 1:15 excellent cleaning results.
The process according to the invention is both continuous and also applicable discontinuously. With the continuous The parts to be cleaned are used by a series guided by cleaning compartments arranged one behind the other, the parts for a period of time, i. H. between about 2 minutes and about 30 minutes, preferably between about 2 minutes and about 8 minutes remain in each cleaning compartment. The supercritical fluid is countercurrent led to the parts to be cleaned. From the first cleaning compartment becomes the one loaded with the dirt Fluid withdrawn continuously or discontinuously and then a cleaning process described below subjected and then as purified supercritical fluid supplied to the last cleaning compartment. To achieve the required high pressures, we recommend such continuous cleaning in one to carry out correspondingly large-volume autoclaves, so that all cleaning compartments and the necessary drive units and possibly also the cleaning facilities arranged for the supercritical fluid within the autoclave are.
In the case of discontinuous cleaning, the ones to be cleaned are Parts, for example, in a corresponding container, especially in introduced a cleaning drum, some of which is in the supercritical Immersed fluid. By rotating the cleaning drum the cleaning parts arrive for a limited time in contact with the fluid, the fluid being continuous or deducted discontinuously and accordingly from the Dirt is cleaned. It is also recommended here itself, the cleaning drum and the one arranged underneath Fluid containers, the drive units for the cleaning drum and optionally cleaning devices for the fluid within a correspondingly large volume Arrange autoclaves.
For cleaning the in the inventive method There are several fluids or fluid mixtures used Opportunities. Soiling, for example are removed from the fluid by adsorption, whereby in this case the loaded fluid preferably by appropriate Pump is pumped out. As a filter, for example Carbon, silica gel, diatomaceous earth, zeolite and / or aluminum oxide filters be used. There is also the option of a decrease in pressure or temperature or an increase in volume To clean fluid, with the supercritical fluid in the corresponding gas is converted and as such from the Cleaning unit is removed. The pollution can then as solid or liquid dirt from the cleaning unit be withdrawn while the cleaned gas is and / or pressure increase or volume reduction in again the supercritical state and can be used again.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention Procedures are specified in the subclaims.
The method according to the invention is described below with the aid of Embodiments explained in more detail.
Hierbei betrug die jeweilige Schmutzauflage 2 Gew.-%.A cleaned, fixed polyester standard fabric with a Basis weight of 140 g was made with red wine, olive oil, Vacuum pump oil, butter, coffee, paraffin, red candle wax and a mixture of 95% of one liquid paraffins impregnated with 5% graphite as model dirt. The respective dirt layer was here 2% by weight.
So loaded with the various model dirt substances Tissues were grown in a laboratory setup in a 1:10 liquor ratio under mechanical processing in supercritical carbon dioxide at a temperature of 40 ° C and a pressure of 100 bar cleaned for 2, 5 and 10 minutes.
To obtain comparative tests, the same Conditions the previously described, standard soiled tissue cleaned in perchlorethylene without pressure for 2, 5 and 10 minutes, whereby a temperature of about 20 ° C was selected.
After cleaning, the residual dirt concentrations for the pollution olive oil, vacuum pump oil, butter, Paraffin, red candle wax and paraffin-graphite mixture by extraction according to DIN 54 278 and for the model dirt substances Red wine, coffee, red candle wax as well Paraffin graphite measured colorimetrically and the efficiency determined according to the following formula:
mit
W = Wirkungsgrad,
C A = Anfangskonzentration,
C E = Endkonzentration.With
W = efficiency,
C A = initial concentration,
C E = final concentration.
The following table 1 shows the efficiencies for the individual model dirt substances reproduced.
The results shown in Table 1 above clearly prove that the supercritical carbon dioxide a much better for all model dirt substances Has cleaning effect. Although with the pollution Red wine, coffee and paraffin graphite the efficiency of the supercritical carbon dioxide was quite good, they showed cleaned samples a slightly reddish, brown or gray soiling. Therefore, in the following Embodiment 2 described in the supercritical Carbon dioxide added a cleaning booster.
The polyester fabric described above was in the same Height with the model dirt substances red wine, coffee and a mixture of 95% paraffin impregnated with 5% graphite.
The tissue samples thus treated were among the above Conditions with supercritical carbon dioxide, which as Cleaning booster 2 vol .-% water and 2 wt .-% (related to the amount of water) of a linear alkylbenzenesulfonate contained, treated. At the same time, immediately dirty ones were found Fabric in perchlorethylene that meets the above contained cleaning amplifier described, cleaned.
After a total cleaning time of 5 minutes, the Efficiency according to the formula given above determined. At the same time, the cleaned samples visually evaluated. The results of this example are in summarized in Table 2 below.
The with perchlorethylene with the addition of the above Cleaning enhancers cleaned tissues were all still colored to clearly colored, while the corresponding Comparative fabrics covered with supercritical carbon dioxide Addition of the above-mentioned cleaning amplifier treated visually no more contamination showed.
After a cleaning time of 2 minutes 1% by weight, after a cleaning time of 5 minutes 1.5% by weight and after a cleaning time of 10 minutes 1.9% by weight.
This experiment was repeated 30 times and then colorimetrically assessed the color change. This could be determined that all treated with perchlorethylene Samples a hue shift and especially a significant one Color lightening that is between about 30% and about 50% showed, while the corresponding comparison samples, that were cleaned with supercritical carbon dioxide, none Color changes, just a slight color brightening up to max. had about 5%.
Striking in the comparative experiments described above was also that in supercritical carbon dioxide cleaned samples were significantly less wrinkled than the samples treated in perchlorethylene. Furthermore found that tissue contaminated with butyric acid after cleaning with perchlorethylene still significantly Butyric acid smelled, what with the tissues with supercritical Carbon dioxide treatments were not the case.
Also noticed during cleaning in supercritical fluid, that microorganisms, especially bacteria, in the Reprocessing the contaminated fluid are destroyed, so that those treated with the supercritical fluid Cleaning parts disinfected at the same time during cleaning will.
It was also found that the effective temperature cleaning with supercritical fluids compared to that about 20% -30% lower in aqueous systems lies.
