Description
Beispiel II.Process for the hydrogenation of artificial and natural rubbers. It was - ° Gefcmdeir, - .rtass- @nan 1ü nstlidrc and natural rubber types hydrogenated can, if you look at the solutions of rubber in ether, ligroin, cyclohexane or homologues the same treated with hydrogen in the presence of platinum black or palladium black. The method can be used for both natural and synthetic rubber types. Example I. Freshly made dimethylbutadiene rubber, through six weekly Heating of; β-dimethylbutadiene in the tube to 80 ° is prepared by heating in a vacuum as completely as possible from unchanged starting material and darker terpene freed, then immediately dissolved in absolute ether and using a known method shown platinum black with the introduction of pure hydrogen, more common Temperature stirred or shaken. The hydrogen is first absorbed so strongly that that negative pressure is constantly forming. Only towards the end of the operation slows down the absorption process, and it is advisable to give a little overpressure to accelerate it on. The platinum is removed by filtration, and after evaporation it is obtained Solvent a little filled mass, the (the nerve of the rubber) lost. liat; but still has certain plastic properties. Example II.
A freshly made solution of para rubber in cyclohexane is made treated in the same way. The uptake of hydrogen increases slowly if the pressure is increased to several atmospheres. It cannot be used for printing Specify a certain number as the natural rubber used in the reduction Depending on the purity, whether unpolluted or not, absorbed at very different rates. The reduced para rubber is a brownish opaque mass.
The hydrogen uptake corresponds roughly to the amount of four atoms Hydrogen to formula C., Hl .. The reduction is complete when the cyclohexane solution a bromine solution no longer decolorizes.
The hydrogenated rubber should either stand alone or in admixture with Rubber:, ethyl cellulose, bitumen and similar materials used as insulating materials will.
