Claims

1. Folding table with a frame (1) forming a storage cavity, a table top (3), a device (4) for fastening the table top (3) in such a way that it can pivot about an axis (5) forming a component of the frame (1) and can assume at least two positions, namely a first, folded position and a second position in which the plane of the table top (3) forms a certain angle other than zero with the plane of the frame (1), and with actuatable elements (12) for holding the table top (3) when it is in the second position, characterized in that the table further comprises actuatable members (11) for holding the table top (3) when it is in the first position in such a way that it is completely accommodated in the storage cavity, and in that the folding table comprises a spring device (10) for exerting at least one force to move the table top (3) from the first position to the second position, wherein the spring device (10) has at least a first and a second lifting element (20, 20'), of which one end (30; 32; 34) are attached to the frame (1) and the other end (31; 33; 35) to the table top (3), in planes which are each perpendicular to the axis of rotation (5) of the table top (3) with respect to the frame (1), the attachment point (31; 33) of the first lifting element (20) located on the table top (3) being at a shorter distance from the axis of rotation (5) than the attachment point (35) of the second lifting element (20') located on the table top (3), while the attachment point (30; 32) of the first lifting element (20) located on the frame (1) being at a greater distance from the axis of rotation (5) than the attachment point (34) of the second lifting element (20') located on the frame (1).

2. Table according to claim 1, characterized in that the lifting elements (20) are pneumatic elements, with at least one cylinder (21) forming a sealed chamber of variable volume and a piston connected to Rod (22), wherein the variable volume chamber is expanded by a compressible medium.

Table according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that it has two first lifting elements and a second lifting element, the three lifting elements being evenly spaced such that the two first lifting elements are located substantially close to the ends (41, 42) of the table top (3) and the second lifting element is located substantially in the middle between the two first lifting elements.

Table according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the actuatable members (11) designed to hold the table top (3) in the first position have a lock (50) with a bolt (51) and a bolt latch (52) which are part of the table top (3) and the frame (1), respectively, whereby these two components are mounted in such a way that in the first position of the table top (3) the bolt (51) of the lock (50) is in engagement with the bolt latch (52) in order to prevent the table top (3) from pivoting in the direction of the second position, and that the actuatable members (11) have a device (53) for actuating the lock bolt.

5. Table according to claim 4, characterized in that it has a device (54) for actuating a release of the latch (52).

6. Table according to claim 5, characterized in that the actuating device (53) of the latch (52) is mechanical.

7. Table according to one of claims 4 and 5, characterized in that the actuating device (53) of the bolt (51) of the lock (50) is mechanical, electronic, optoelectronic or magnetic.

Table according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized characterized in that the actuatable elements (12) designed to hold the table top (3) in the second position comprise an arm (60) and a torsion bar (61) pivotably attached to the frame (1), the arm (60) being firmly connected to the torsion bar (61) such that in the first position of the table top (3) the arm (60) is in a first position between the table top (3) and the frame (1) and that in the second position of the table top (3) the torsion bar (61) pivots, taking the arm (60) with it, to bring it into a second position under the table top (3) and prevent it from pivoting into the first position.

9. Table according to claim 8, characterized in that it has a releasable and actuatable holding device (62) to hold the arm (60) when it is in the first position, wherein the actuatable device can be actuated when the table top (3) is in the second position.

10. Table according to claim 9, characterized in that the holding device (62) for the arm (60) is actuated after a certain period of time after the table top (3) has reached the second position.

11. Table according to one of claims 8 to 10, characterized in that the arm (60) has a projection (63) facing the underside of the table top, the underside of the table top having a device (64) for locking the projection (63) which can be released when the table top (3) and the arm (60) are in their respective second position.

12. Table according to one of claims 8 to 11, characterized in that it comprises a device (70) which dampens the end of the pivoting movement of the arm (60) as soon as it reaches the second position.

13. Table according to one of claims 1 to 12, characterized in that the device (4) which serves to fasten the table top (3) in a manner pivotable about an axis (5) consists of at least two hinges (23, 24) each with two hinge parts, one hinge part being fastened to the table top (3) and one hinge part to the frame (1), such that the axis of rotation (5) lies on the side parts (25, 26, 27, 28) of the frame (1) or the table top (3).
