Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a table system according to the preamble of
For conference rooms, dining rooms and the like, it is always necessary to arrange table systems in the respective configurations corresponding to the requirements. The simplest form of such table systems can be seen in loosely assembling a number of individual, essentially similar tables in the desired configuration. A major disadvantage of loosely assembled tables is that individual tables can be moved out of the arrangement in an undesirable manner by a relatively light touch.
Various table systems have therefore been developed in which the individual table elements (which can be individual tables which can be set up freely or a combination of such tables with so-called table suspension plates) can be detachably connected to one another in the region of their opposite table top edges by mechanical connecting devices. Here, an embodiment is known from practice in which hinges are attached to the underside of the table top edges of table hanging plates, the free hinge plate of which when the table hanging plate is assembled with a freely erectable table to the outside folded and releasably connected to the underside of the opposite table top edge of the table using a suitable fastening screw. This is extremely cumbersome and time consuming and requires tools and loose fasteners.
An embodiment is also known from practice in which plug-in connection fittings are provided in the table top edge regions to be connected to one another. In this case, plug parts must be inserted horizontally into the receiving parts, which leads to a cumbersome assembly (assembly) of the table system for the respective table configuration. These partially exposed and protruding connection fittings also hinder space-saving stacking of unused table elements and can also scratch the table tops when stacking or other handling. It has also been shown here that a sufficiently reliable locking between the connection fittings cannot be achieved.
A basically similar embodiment to that described above is also disclosed in GB-A-21 00 121, whose table system roughly corresponds to the table system presupposed in the preamble of
The invention is therefore based on the object, while avoiding the disadvantages of known designs, to create a table system of the type required in the preamble of
This object is achieved by the characterizing features of
Vorteilhafte Ausgestaltungen und Weiterbildungen dieser Erfindung sind Gegenstand der Unteransprüche.Advantageous refinements and developments of this invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
In this table system according to the invention, the two main parts of the or each connecting device are embedded essentially from below and laterally into the table top edges of the associated table element and these main parts are essentially flush with the outer contour of the table top edges.
Verbindungseinrichtungen ausgestatteten Tischelemente erreicht. In contrast to the known designs explained above, according to the invention, the one main part of each two-part connecting device is built into the table top edge area of the one table element and the second main part into the table top edge area of the adjacent other table element, i.e. the two main parts of the connecting device are fully integrated into the associated tabletop edges or edge areas, so that when the individual table elements are not in use and, if appropriate, are stacked one on top of the other, they cannot be scratched or damaged in any other way by the above connecting devices. This also achieves a clean and aesthetic appearance of the table elements equipped with the main parts of the connecting device or connecting devices.
If the table elements of this table system according to the invention are to be assembled or connected to one another, then only the mounting lever needs to be pivoted out of the outer contour of the associated table top edge by the first main part of the connecting device, so that the second main part built into the table top edge of the adjacent other table element is pivoted out onto the one Mounting lever is placed, which engages positively in the second main part. This can be achieved with relatively simple constructive means and leads to easy and quick handling when assembling table elements. By the sensible Forming the two main parts of each connecting device, an extremely reliable locking engagement between the two main parts and thus between the adjacent table elements to be connected to one another can be created. This locking engagement can additionally be secured by the securing element provided in the second main part.
The table elements assembled in this way, despite the easy detachability of the main parts of each connecting device, are sufficiently firmly connected to one another so that, for example, a person leaning against a table element cannot cause these table elements to move relative to one another.
It should be stated in principle that the table elements can only be matched, preferably of the same design, with rectilinear tabletop edges, freely set-up angular (preferably rectangular or square) tables, that these are But table elements can also act in the same way as a combination of such angular tables with table hanging plates (without legs), in which case one table hanging plate can be hung between the table plates of two tables arranged at a distance from one another.

A very simple embodiment of the table system according to the invention will be explained with reference to FIG. 1. In this example, three table elements are illustrated in perspective, namely a first table element in the form of a free-standing rectangular table 1, a second table element in the form of a likewise rectangular
At this point it should be expressly emphasized that any number of table elements (but at least two) can be connected to one another and that the individual table elements can in principle have any shape that is suitable for forming table elements on their opposite sides to form a common table surface Connect edge areas with each other. The latter can be achieved particularly well with table elements whose table tops have straight edges, as is the case with square, in particular rectangular and trapezoidal tables; However, table shapes can also be used, the table tops of which are approximately circular or elliptical arc-shaped sections with approximately straight end edges (connecting edges). It can be seen that in this way any table configuration can be put together from freestanding individual tables and tabletop panels in a variety of ways. Since these table elements are releasably connected to one another, they can be easily dismantled after use and stored in a space-saving manner and possibly transported.
The mechanical connection devices between the adjacent table tops are of particular importance so that the table elements that are adjacent to one another can be connected to one another in a light, time-saving and yet extremely reliable manner and just as easily dismantled when not in use.
The design of these mechanical connecting devices is explained in more detail below with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3. It should be assumed here that, in the manner indicated by dashed lines at 5 in FIG. 2, a first main part of the essentially two-part connecting devices are installed near the corners in the table top edge regions of the table 1 shown.
2aʹ ihrer Tischplatten 1a und 2a bestimmt ist.3, however, the basic structure of a connecting device is first explained, it being emphasized that all connecting devices on the table tops of this table system are of the same design. In Fig. 3 it is assumed that the mechanical connection device shown is intended for releasable connection of the first table element designed as a rectangular table 1 and the second table element designed as a
As has already been mentioned, each connecting device essentially consists of two main parts. Of these two main parts of the connecting device - as already indicated in connection with FIG. 2 - the first
If one first considers the first
This
The second
The locking engagement of the first
It is also particularly advantageous if this securing
In Fig. 3 it can also be seen that the two
Darüber hinaus erfüllen diese umlaufenden Tischkantenprofile eine Art Kantenschutz für die freiliegenden Tischplattenkanten.3 also shows that in the upper region of the table top edges 1aʹ and 2aʹ of the two table element table tops 1a and 2a a circumferential, elastic table edge profile is attached such that it protrudes slightly from the rest of the outer contour of this table top edge. It can also be seen that in the engaged position between the two
Before further details and advantageous embodiments of this table system and in particular the connecting devices are discussed, an assembly process between the hanging
For the assembly of the
The pivoted-out mounting
From the assembly process previously described with reference to FIGS. 4 to 7, it should be clear that such an assembly of adjacent table elements can be carried out extremely quickly, reliably and permanently, for which no other aids or tools are required. To assemble the
The table elements are dismantled practically in reverse order and just as quickly, conveniently and easily as the assembly described above.
It also goes without saying that in the manner described not only tables and table hanging plates which can be set up freely can be connected to one another, but that tables which can be set up freely can be connected directly to one another in exactly the same way and with the same connecting devices.
The connecting devices or their main parts can be embedded and installed directly in the edge areas of the associated table tops if the table tops are sufficiently thick and stable (stiff against use).
If, however, the table top is supported by a frame frame on which the table legs are attached at the same time to the corners of a freely set-up angular table, then it is advantageous if - as indicated by dashed lines in FIG. 2 and in FIG. 3 for table 1 is drawn - the
In the same way as with tables 1 and 2, which can be set up freely, each
These frame frames 18 and 19 can be made from suitable finished metal profiles (preferably aluminum profiles) or from wood.
If one assumes that with several free-standing tables 1, 3, these tables are always assembled in the manner described with
There are further design options for the formation of the connecting devices:
According to a first embodiment, it is assumed that - as indicated in Fig. 2 - on the undersides of the table tops, for. B. 1a, the table elements, for. B. at the table 1, made of die-
Another training opportunity for the connection facilities can also be explained with reference to FIG. 3. Thereafter, each connecting device contains a first housing intended for the first
No matter how the connecting devices are designed, they each consist of a pair of associated
Finally, it should be added that the associated table legs 1b and 3b are attached to the corners of the freely adjustable tables 1, 3, a preferred embodiment being to provide the
