Abstract

Between the camshaft bearings (3,4) for a vehicle engine is an ignition coil assembly (1) positioned centrally under the cylinder (2). A h.v. connection for the coil (5) is formed by a stepped sleeve (6) extending vertically downwards, with a contact (7) at the bottom for engaging the contact (10) on the top of a sparking plug (9). The sleeve and an insulating seleve (11) concentric with it, forms a capacitor for assisting ignition. The insulating sleeve which is also stepped to match the inner sleeve, is fitted with a channel (8) incorporated in the engine cylinder.
