Abstract

A primary gas-air mixture is supplied to the duct (3) by a feed device (4) connected to a gas pipe (5). The device comprises secondary air inlets (16) towards the upper part of the diffusion bed (25), consisting in particular of orifices provided in a rim (10) around the edge of the box (2). The invention is applicable to a closed-hearth fireplace where the gas burns around non-combustible elements which have the appearance of logs of wood.
