Abstract

The grid is formed of radial, hollow support arms (5) evenly spaced out over the grid and possessing blowing-holes pointed towards the fuel-supporting surface of the grid. An air source is pneumatically connected with the support arms, by means of a movable coupling arrangement (7,8). A post-combustion chamber (15) removes the flame gases, which are mixed with combustion air The solid fuel rests on a grid that has one surface area covered and one not covered by the fuel. Draught is introduced from underneath to the fuel in the combustion area. The flame gases emerging from the combustion zone are mixed with a top draught.
