Loom for mfg. double-pile velvet, carpetting, esp. with long pile, has a lifter which raises and lowers a weft inserter, for it to operate at two different levels in synchronism with the movements of the heddles. Specifically warps of one fabric do not move to interfere with warps of the other fabric. The weft inserter is pref. raised and lowered by a cam.
