Abstract

The ship which can be used for transporting military equipment, supplies or personnel, is based on a container ship construction, with a crane (11) at one side. The hold is filled with standard containers (32) which can be arranged to form spaces (40) for accommodation units with interconnecting gangways. Each group of containers, which can house vehicles, supplies etc., includes an auxiliary container forming accommodation for personnel. The containers, which can be 20 foot containers, have corner fittings enabling connectors to be attached to form the intermediate spaces. The connectors include height-adjustable vertical members and separate upper and lower cross members. Part of the deck is used as a helicopter landing pad.
