Abstract

The rail vehicle power unit comprises a geared motor in a bogie frame and with its shaft parallel to the axles. This drives via spur gears, in a housing fixed to its own a hollow shaft enclosing and clear of an axle and which is flexibly coupled to the latter. The geared motor is elastically mounted at three points in the frame. It is vertically supported in the frame (2) at two points (25,26) spaced apart, while the third point is formed by the elastic coupling (17) between hollow shaft and axle.
