Abstract

Beverages, specially fruit juice, are filled in bottles under aseptic or sterile conditions without chemical additives by passing the empty bottles through a preheating phase and a sterilisation phase. During the latter, a sterilising medium is passed through a filler tube inside the bottle. The medium is made to run radially outward on the bottom, up the inside walls and outside around the bottle mouth and down. The same tube is used for filling the bottle with fruit juice.
