Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Elektrode zum dielektrischen
Verschweißen und/oder Prägen von thermoplastischen Kunststoffen
mittels eines Hochfrequenzfeldes, wie sie beispielsweise
aus der DE-PS 8 86 050 als bekannt hervorgeht.
Das Schweißen bzw. Nahtverzieren von thermoplastischen
Kunststoffen ist in der Industrie seit längerer Zeit schon
erfolgreich im Einsatz. Es beruht auf dem Prinzip der Erwärmung
des Kunststoffmaterials aufgrund seiner dielektrischen
Verluste.
In der DE-PS 8 86 050 ist eine Elektrode dargestellt, die
zum Verschweißen und/oder Prägen von Kunststoff-Folien
mittels einer Hochfrequenzspannung vorgesehen ist. Diese
Elektrode ist in ihrer Masse aus einem schlecht wärmeleitenden
Material (thermischer Isolator) gefertigt und auf
ihrer der Folie zugewandten Seite mit einer dünnen Metallschicht
versehen. Aufgrund dieser Verbund-Konstruktion ist
zwar der Wärmeabfluß durch diese Elektrode sehr gering,
aber die dünne Metallschicht verschleißt relativ schnell,
so daß sich dadurch die Arbeitsparameter der Elektrode
verändern und gleichbleibende Prägungen der Folie auf die
Dauer nicht zu gewährleisten sind. Ferner erfordert die
Fertigung einer solchen Elektrode, bedingt durch die verschiedenen
Arbeitsschritte, komplizierte und damit teure
Fertigungsmittel.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, die gattungsmäßig
zugrunde gelegte Elektrode dahingehend weiterzuentwickeln,
das gleichbleibend gute reproduzierbare Einprägungen an
Kunststoffolien, z. B. an Schweißungen, ermöglicht werden
und die Kosten für die Fertigung der Elektrode zu senken.
Die Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß mit dem kennzeichnenden
Merkmal des Anspruchs gelöst.
Da der spezifische Widerstand von Graphit um Größenordnungen
höher als der von metallischen Leitern liegt, das
Wärmeleitungsvermögen von Graphit geringer und die spezifische
Wärmekapazität höher ist als von guten metallischen
Leitern ist, kommt durch den Stromfluß relativ rasch eine
mäßige und bleibende Selbsterwärmung zustande. Diese Eigenerwärmung
ist dafür verantwortlich, daß die Elektrode
dem Werkstück wesentlich weniger Wärme entzieht als bisher
und Nahtprägungen gut reproduzierbar herzustellen sind und
damit der Ausschuß erniedrigt wird.
Ein Ausführungsbeispiel ist in der Zeichnung dargestellt
und wird im folgenden erklärt.
Die einzige Zeichnung zeigt den Schnitt durch einen
prinzipiellen Aufbau einer Hochfrequenzanlage für das
dielektrische Erwärmen zum Bearbeiten von Kunststoffolien.
Die ganze Apparatur besteht im wesentlichen aus 4 Teilen:
Einem Hochfrequenzgenerator 6 zur Erzeugung der Hochfrequenz spannung bzw. des Hochfrequenzstromes, den Zuleitungen 7 und die Elektroden 3, 4 sowie einer Druckvorrichtung 5. Außen an den Elektroden 3, 4 befinden sich Druckvorrich tungen 5, die vorzugsweise senkrecht zu der Schweißfläche 8 beweglich angebracht sind, und ferner die Zuleitungen 7 des Hochfrequenzstroms, der im Hochfrequenzgenerator 6 erzeugt wird. Die Elektroden 3, 4 selbst sind in eine obere Elektrode 3 und eine untere Elektrode 4 aufgeteilt, wobei zwischen ihnen die zu bearbeitenden Folien 1, 2 eingelegt sind. Die untere Elektrode 4 ist hierbei als Platte ausgebildet, die gegenüberliegende obere Elektrode 3 kann an der Kontaktseite ein Muster, z. B. eine Riffe lung aufweisen. Die obere Elektrode 3 ist hier bezüglich der zu bearbeitenden Fläche 8 länglich geformt und kann quer zur Zeichnungsebene noch eine Ausbreitung besitzen. An dem kürzeren Ende der obenliegenden Folie 1 besitzt die Elektrode 3 eine Abtrennkante 9, deren Eindringtiefe der Folienstärke der Folie 1 entspricht, und zum Abschneiden des überschüssigen Restes der Folie 1 dient. Auch die untere Elektrode 4 kann an der der Folie zugewandten Fläche 10 eine Musterung besitzen. Sollen die Folien 1, 2 nun verschweißt und gegebenenfalls geprägt werden, wird der Hochfrequenzstrom durch die Zuleitungen 7 zu den Elektroden 3, 4 geleitet und erhitzt diese durch den Spannungsabfall an ihrem Widerstand. Ferner wird durch das elektromagnetische Hochfrequenz-Wechselfeld und die dielektrischen Verluste in den Folien 1, 2 eine Erhöhung der Temperatur der Folien 1, 2 innerhalb des Feldes herbeigeführt. Die Temperatur ist an der zu verschweißenden Fläche 8 der Folien 1, 2 am größten. Hat diese Temperatur die Schmelztemperatur 1, 2 erreicht, verschweißen die durch die Druckvorrichtung 5 zusammengepreßten Folien 1, 2. Gegebenenfalls werden die Folien 1, 2 dabei auch besäumt und/oder verzierend geprägt.
Einem Hochfrequenzgenerator 6 zur Erzeugung der Hochfrequenz spannung bzw. des Hochfrequenzstromes, den Zuleitungen 7 und die Elektroden 3, 4 sowie einer Druckvorrichtung 5. Außen an den Elektroden 3, 4 befinden sich Druckvorrich tungen 5, die vorzugsweise senkrecht zu der Schweißfläche 8 beweglich angebracht sind, und ferner die Zuleitungen 7 des Hochfrequenzstroms, der im Hochfrequenzgenerator 6 erzeugt wird. Die Elektroden 3, 4 selbst sind in eine obere Elektrode 3 und eine untere Elektrode 4 aufgeteilt, wobei zwischen ihnen die zu bearbeitenden Folien 1, 2 eingelegt sind. Die untere Elektrode 4 ist hierbei als Platte ausgebildet, die gegenüberliegende obere Elektrode 3 kann an der Kontaktseite ein Muster, z. B. eine Riffe lung aufweisen. Die obere Elektrode 3 ist hier bezüglich der zu bearbeitenden Fläche 8 länglich geformt und kann quer zur Zeichnungsebene noch eine Ausbreitung besitzen. An dem kürzeren Ende der obenliegenden Folie 1 besitzt die Elektrode 3 eine Abtrennkante 9, deren Eindringtiefe der Folienstärke der Folie 1 entspricht, und zum Abschneiden des überschüssigen Restes der Folie 1 dient. Auch die untere Elektrode 4 kann an der der Folie zugewandten Fläche 10 eine Musterung besitzen. Sollen die Folien 1, 2 nun verschweißt und gegebenenfalls geprägt werden, wird der Hochfrequenzstrom durch die Zuleitungen 7 zu den Elektroden 3, 4 geleitet und erhitzt diese durch den Spannungsabfall an ihrem Widerstand. Ferner wird durch das elektromagnetische Hochfrequenz-Wechselfeld und die dielektrischen Verluste in den Folien 1, 2 eine Erhöhung der Temperatur der Folien 1, 2 innerhalb des Feldes herbeigeführt. Die Temperatur ist an der zu verschweißenden Fläche 8 der Folien 1, 2 am größten. Hat diese Temperatur die Schmelztemperatur 1, 2 erreicht, verschweißen die durch die Druckvorrichtung 5 zusammengepreßten Folien 1, 2. Gegebenenfalls werden die Folien 1, 2 dabei auch besäumt und/oder verzierend geprägt.
Ergänzend sei noch hervorgehoben, daß durch Verwendung von
großflächigen Elektroden mit entsprechender Narbung,
Waffelung oder einer anderen Prägestruktur Folien groß
flächig genarbt oder sonst thermoplastisch prägend ver
ziert werden können.
Claims (1)
- Elektrode zum dielektrischen Verschweißen und/oder Prägen von thermoplastischen Kunststoffen mittels eines Hochfrequenzfeldes dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Elektrode (3, 4) aus Graphit besteht.
